There are a range of prices.  $100,000 seems a little high.  Depending on what all you want done, the price could range from about $2000 for a trache shave to about $5000 for a BA.

There are a number of procedures that can be done and so there will be different prices.  There is economy to be had by combining procedures because a fair amount of the price for each procedure is the operating room and support personnel costs.  If you have more than one procedure done at a time, you only pay one price for the support.

Your best bet is to call around to the various doctors and get an idea of what the costs are and what you might want.

I know almost nothing about this but have heard that with some FFS surgeons it's not terribly difficult to get a medical loan. You would still have to pay a bit but not all at once.

Yes it is possible, but most medical loans top out at about $10K.  But most major makeover FFS procedures will go to about $30-$40K so it can still be a bit of a stretch.

But if you are doing either less FFS or proceeding in stages, then it can be helpful.

I just had FFS 9 days ago, I paid $19,500 and was able to get a medical loan to cover $10,500 of it. I paid the rest in cash.. so you have options.
That included rhinoplasty, scalp adavncement, orbital rims and brow shave.

I had the works by Dr Ousterhout 5 months ago, never expected it to be cheap, but it was nowhere near 100k you are mentioning (who is asking that kind of price ?).

I'm still paying for the surgery, while recovering, and I expect to be paying 2 more years or so. But it's the very best money I ever spent, because now, I don't look like a man in drag any more and I can live a normal everyday life, as a woman.
