So I started my shopping spree at Target and bought a cardigan and a faux leather jacket. Then I went to payless shoes and bought some new shoes; a pair of tennis shoes and a pair of flats. Then I went and got my eyebrows waxed. Finally I went over to For Eyes and bought myself a new pair of glasses and sun glasses that don't look so masculine.
Regarding the waxing and my new glasses that should hopefully arrive by Friday next week I feel like I'm taking care of the last remaining visual cues that where straggling behind everything else.
It was so great though being able to shop and be accepted by the other people shopping, and the clerks. I must have really been passing with the person at For Eyes because she was really confused when I had her look up my account by my old name *cringe*. She was still really good about it and we made small talk while she was processing my order. I made sure to get my name updated though so I wouldn't have to run into the issue again.
I'm so comfortable going out now as me that I've resumed my walks around the surrounding neighborhoods for exercise. The only difference is now I'll stop and talk with people I pass by if they look friendly. I don't want to say life is perfect because I still have to get up early on the week days, deal with traffic, and I haven't won the lottery yet but I can at least get a smile or two or three in too.
