i know that its bad to drink alcohol when you are in your HRT but does this mean you are never allowed to drink? Im wondering what is the safe amount/frequency to be drinking while on hrt? do u skip the anti-androgen for that day when u know ull be going to drink alot that night?

im curious :) ty

I sometimes take my spiro with beer.   ;D

In all seriousness I wouldn't recommend becoming a heavy drinker and don't binge drink but two or three drinks per week won't kill you.

This was something I was always paranoid about when I started HRT about 3 months ago, so I didn't drink at all. But my blood work is fine and I seem pretty healthy so I don't think having a few drinks every once in a while will cause a major problem. I don't drink liquor anymore either, I stick to beer or wine. Keeping it to a weekend thing and not drinking alot often you should be ok... but everyone is different. As long as you get blood work taken often and know you are healthy I don't think having a few drinks every once in a while will hurt you.

Just remember Spiro is a diuretic and so is alcohol so remember to stay hydrated. I honestly would skip the spiro on a day you will be out drinking. The one day lapse isn't going to send your testosterone skyrocketing, and it will save you from having to pee every 5 seconds.

If you are taking Androcur (cyproterone acetate) instead of Spironolactone your liver health should be an area of concern.

Play it safe and keep the alcohol consumption down.

It's fine in moderate/small amounts it's only if your a heavy drinker your liable to make yourself extremely vunerable to certain conditions.

Those begin liver and kidney irregularities depending on your T blocker, aswell as problems with blood clots. but you would have be a serious binge drinker or a chronic alcoholic for those risk factors to come into play.

It shouldn't be that bad anyway as without T in your system your Dehydrogenase enzymes will decrease anyway along with your liver function begin taxed. (allowing you to get drunk more easily.) whitch is somthing you should be aware of if you don't want to leave yourself vunerable.
