Well I found a laser place in town and I will call and ask tomorrow. Hopefully we get some compare prices here though.

Hi Girl, I bought a pkge from American Laser. I am on 5 coming up. One more after that. But they did give me an extended 2 yr guarantee to get all other patchy areas. My pkge cost 2 grand for 6 treatments with the extra 2 years as needed. So far I am satisfied. It is a slow process. Hope this helps..Good luck...Christy

2 GRAND!!? I'll never be able to afford that!!!

Mine costs $850 for six sessions. They allow paying per treatment rather than all at once, but it costs a little more.

£120 - $175 a session in UK.
they like to claim the machines are expensive but they will lease them at low cost.
we pay a vanity fee.
but then how much would we spend on razors and cream for the rest of our lives?
and how would all that shaving make us feel.

I think we need to be careful of average and 'good' laser prices.

I think it should be more about what YOU want what the salon can supply and how professional are they.

OK laser is painless: wrong. it can be VERY painful. My goggles have been full of tears.
Laser is permanent: No it isn't. Even when/if you are fully cleared  you may need to go back every few years. It is profoundly determined on your androgen status. To put it simply if you produce T at a level higher than GG you can have beard reduction but never removal. But case by case.

All clinics are the same? Forget it. I go to a clinic in which the therapist is a registerd nurse. She can assess my oedema and reactions. The facility is owned by an Endocrinologist. It was originally stated by him by him for women with POCS, and then of course others drifted in.

It costs me $100 per session. I need three sessions to do my face. Hence $300 a beard. This will be VERY  variable. I think I lost b70% of my facial hair in the first round. I present in drab. After one complete session I'm now to shaving one day in three.  I used to shave twice a day.

my two laserists have both been trained nurses fully trained nurses who decided that working for themselves was vastly better and more profitable so at first appointment they spent time warning of the possible problems and pains and the likely results so I had no worries there.
luckily even though they have used three different machines and sometimes the stinging brings tears to my eyes I don't have any inflammation and a quick cold wash after then a light powdering and lipsticking is all I need to set off home.
my face and genital hair runs all the way from white to black via mousy and reddish and the laser just will not touch most of the lighter so I'm having lots of electrolysis.
I did look round and compare prices and costs do seem to be held at what I quoted but as I'm sure they will be leasing the machines the highish prices really are just vanity prices that we pay same as other people buy the most expensive beauty products.
I did buy and try one of the home laser kits but it just could not penetrate my white skin and in the two places where I vastly exceeded the time all I got to show for it was a small brown patch of permanent pigmented skin.
The only way I coud get it hot enough to sizzle hair was by damping stubble with baby oil so that two hairs stuck together and presented a big enough dark area for the laser to burn.
I think the lasering is effective on some hairs but I am really annoyed to have solid black ones either side of my mouth that it doesn get so I'm resgined to electrolysis for those.
As some people say they find electrolysis agony they may find lasering quite painful so getting smooth will be a real problem.
Maybe a high end salon with resident doctor who can give local anaesthetic to allow electrolysis to proceed woudl be ideal but who can afford that?

it will be best to spend a few dollars on phoning round for prices and conditions but they mostly will not tell you over the phone and expect you to go see them.
in theory market economics should work and they should lower their prices to compete or get customers in slack times rather than having staff and machine idle but I doubt if beauticians work like that.

Who knows. I have two jobs right now, and I guess my only option is to save up as much as I can and hope I can manage.

For what its worth I paid $400 AUD (around $380 USD) (Before anesthetic +$39) a session for my laser removal which included my Beard & Neck.

I had the choice between paying $180 with a beauty center or the $400 with the medical center & I chose the medical center as the doctor who does my laser treatment pioneered the industry in Australia and uses the top of the line Lightsheer Diode medical grade laser equipment. Also their anesthetic is bloody good, almost too good, lasts 4 hours and makes eating real awkward lol.

I had the setting ran up to as high as they recommend people can go(10 joules higher than what she normally does) at 28 and only felt discomfort in the upper lip area which was totally bearable.

I leave knowing that -no one else- could do a better job so I got exactly what I paid for & the results speak for themselves. Huge reduction in dark hairs after treatment

Oh and no red marks on face or pimples or anything the next day, although i think the post laser aftercare solution really helped that I kept reapplying every 2 hours which left my skin sooo smooth. Oh and they were super trans friendly and gave me awesome makeup advice to boot <3 <3 tg friendly businesses, makes you feel heaps better when your still in that awkward stage of transition.

The first round was so successful the second was done in two sessions (and they were 30 mins each),, and the second of the sessions  included my chest tummy and bikini. Awesome, love the results. I hadn't realised that in the second session I was going to have chest and bikini etc, it happened because the face was so quick, and she asked if I wanted to start on another area. I have little chest and tummy hair (and of course I shave/wax) but I was wearing a thong panty, not realising that the bikini was included. I was a little embarrassed, but she didn't  hesitate just said I see you shave here as well, good I can laser straight away.

Chest, tummy, bikini AUS$260.
Second beard sessions (2) total $120 ( $60 each)

So far:  beard $420, the rest (one go so far)  $260. AUS dollar.

Clearance, beard 80%. The rest 50%? a bit early to say 'cos it need time to grow out from the  dead follicles.

Depending on who and where.  I was paying $100 a session.  I have 5, and lose my job.  Oh well, I know where I can get electrolysis for $65 an hour.  Not as quick but longer lasting.

I can sympathize with upper lip pain...had my second session yesterday and we ran it up to 30 joules (was on 28 last time), brought water to my eyes but bearable....

Hoping to see a decent reduction tomrrow, fingers crossed, at $400aud a session I cant do it for long Think ill swap to electro after the third.

CA$262.50/session in Toronto as performed by a doctor/laser tech.

I did 5 sessions before switching to electrolysis since there were not enough dark hairs to nuke while being cost-effective.
