I know this might seen a bit superficial.. but I have to talk about this.

So, at this moment its friday night. We just finished our weekly classes and exams, and nearly all of my classmates are going out.

Except me.

Why? Because, the girls go out with the girls, the boys with the boys, they sometimes meet somewhere, and mingle if they are dating. usually though, a boy ins't invited to go out with the girls.. he calls the other guys to go out.

What if you LOOK like a boy, but you are actually a girl? Well, you are screwed and stay at home in all weekends for all years of university. Unless if you go out alone... which is what I do sometimes.

Believe me, I know that feeling and suffered through it for 5 out of 6 years of college (which is a different story).  I'm not sure where you go to school, but the best suggestion I can give is to try to get involved with some kind of club/group with a more even gender mix.  I managed to solve my problem by attending this daily tai chi class near my campus, and the friends I made through that class tend to go out together, guys+girls, rather than separate.  Hope that helps!

I spend almost every night alone, and it really sucks.  I also never get invited anywhere ether.  And if I did I really can't spare the gas.

*hugs*  I feel on you on that....it's my life currently.  The only time I go out is to the MS Rainbow Alliance meeting here, and that's only once a month.

@ Maiara:  *hugs*  I hope it all gets better and I'm sure you'll find someone at some point. =)  And rants are good.  They make people happy.

Are you presenting as female? Difficult for groups to accept you as a invitee if they cannot identify you. Is there a GLBT group at the Uni? That can be a good place to socialise.
When I wasn't passing at all but wanted to go out several people suggested the movies, OK you are by yourself but you are with people at the same time and can use the dark as a cloak. You have to buy the ticket etc but no one ever said anything rude to me.

No I can't pass at all at the moment. My hair is still growing to a decent size and I am yet to begin laser therapy for facial hair (I have scheduled it though). So I don't present myself as a female because I would look as a guy in a dress at best.

I am in very early transition. About GLBT groups, there are none I know of where I live, and I have looked for them.

In the childhood, i only had male friends. And all of a sudden, the boys on the college refused to spend the time with me... When i realized i was a girl and had to walk with girls. I didn't liked the girls, their conversations and interests, just like normal boys don't do, so... Until the end of the high school, i've passed my days alone.
I only started to be more social when i discovered the interwebz  XD
Now i have male friends again, mostly of them are furries [i'm a member of the furry community] and some, homossexual. I'm not a straight guy neither, so... I like to stay with them  <3

I wish we lived in a closer city, Maiara... Then we could meet each other and i could introduce my friends to you, like Savanah, my beloved crossdresser  ;3

I do have quite a few female friends, I think I mingle fairly well among females. Usually, I don't share many interests with males, though we still talk

I am not that lonely really. I think my groups of friends are fairly gender biased, and I am sort of caught in between at the moment of that spectrum, so I can't fit in.
