I have had laser and extensive professional electrolysis. You really can't see my facial hair, BUT I can FEEL it! I have had trouble finding a new professional so have used the one step. Gone through 3. 1st - throw away those tweezers! go to your favorite beauty place or bed, bath&beyond with one of their coupons and get a tweezerman pair. Moderately expensive, but worth it. The needle of the unit does NOT glow red. The electric charge while in the follicle causes naturally occurring substances to turn into sodium hydroxide, which kills (poisons) the follicle. It is a learning experience to be able to find the follicle opening and insert while NOT touching the metal part, then actually touch the metal and complete the circuit, then hold for 40 seconds. Works very well and inexpensively for cleanup, after major work is completed. Not for trying to do whole face, unless you are a researcher in the arctic with plenty of time and batteries. Order plenty of styluses, clean rigorously after each use. You use salt water on your fingers to make the connections and that builds up. In an hour I can do 45 maybe. The neck is extremely difficult because of trying to hold unit just so. You move, you bend the stylus. Hope this helps.
