It depends on the college.
I attend university and by meeting a few requirements.. I was able to have even the legal documents changed to my preffered name at unistersity. They completely erased my old identity and created a new male one for me. Which means, if I don't get that information legally changed before I graduate - to match up with transcripts and stuff, I'm kinda ->-bleeped-<-ed. Some universities will not do anything for you at all - if you haven't taken legal steps. Really just depnds on the school, and what kind of experience they've had with this in the past. I had it easier, because I'm the 3rd student in my schools history to request this - so they already had procedures for what they would do.
