I attend an online college and have for the past 6 months. I've never actually even stepped foot on a campus. My classes happen two at a time in 2 month periods. I have severe issues focusing when not being pushed to focus and lately am debating attending a college campus but as Michael full time because I already am full time in every other aspect of my life. I don't have a name change yet but was told by a few friends that I can have everything except legal documents under Michael. Anyone have experience with this and attending college as stealth?

Also well, everything is kind of in the air right now. I can't find a job so I've decided to stick with going to school full time but I'm questioning my degree choice of criminal justice. I'm thinking about going into social work and maybe eventually going back for a Doctorate in Psychology or Psychiatry which I would just aim for now but I'm interested in social work and am really not so great at school. I'm thinking maybe once I don't feel like the trans issues I'm dealing with now while trying to get on hormones and get top surgery aren't on my mind things might change a little. I guess half of this is a rant, I'm sorry guys, I've just been asking everyone's opinions and input. Ultimately the choice is my own but I'm very much the person to play devil's advocate and try to see every side before making a choice. Any input from anyone is very welcome ;D

It depends on the college.

I attend university and by meeting a few requirements.. I was able to have even the legal documents changed to my preffered name at unistersity. They completely erased my old identity and created a new male one for me. Which means, if I don't get that information legally changed before I graduate - to match up with transcripts and stuff, I'm kinda ->-bleeped-<-ed. Some universities will not do anything for you at all - if you haven't taken legal steps.  Really just depnds on the school, and what kind of experience they've had with this in the past. I had it easier, because I'm the 3rd student in my schools history to request this - so they already had procedures for what they would do.

Thanks for answering Tad.  I've decided to just hold off until I've started T and have my name changed. That's awesome that your college did that. The not having everything changed over in time is the reason my online college refuses to change my documents, which sucks but makes sense.

I have 6 or so months to make the legal changes before applying for graduation. :) They didn't tell me that i'd need too, they just said it'd cause problems if I didn't and that it would with scholarships and whatnot.
