They can measure you over a bra if it's not padded and if it fits reasonably comfortably. Alternatively, they can measure you over a (thin, close-fitting) shirt with no bra, or over a camisole or something. They should be professional and not push out out of your comfort zone.

The initial measurement is only an estimate anyway. You then try on some bras, and if they don't fit quite right, the estimate is revised to take that into account.

I really need to get a fitting.  I want something that will give cleavage.

The term referrs to the separation between the breasts. When Britain went through it's uptight period in the 19th century, (along with most of Europe), women would use corsets and such, so their chests looked like a sort of shelf.

But I'm all excited.

Yes I think I would like to get an orchie done eventually because your right it's hard to fit into some clothes without "problems". I've tried tucking but I can't get the hang of it.

If you wear a panty liner or pad, it smooths out any minor bulges.  After a month on hormones, my testicles are so small, that whole thing's no longer an issue, hehe.

I agree with Kyrill, but I will add my two-cents worth from my own experience.  I am between an A and B cup, 38B to be precise as far as bra fitting goes.  I bought myself several push-up bras and hard shell bras, but they all have problems.  The one that I like best is a soft material bra (JC Penney has then), which provide support, but allows some growth.

The problem with a hard shell, at least for me, is that my breasts are not heavy enough yet, so they do not push down the bra.  These bras alwasy ride up and are annoying.  When I was taking estrogen / progesterone, the bras would be a bit uncomfortable too, especially on my nipples.  I did not think of that until Kyrill said that, but he is absolutely spot on.  He knows his bras.  I have a soft one, which stays down and is does not bother me.  I enjoy wearing it all day.

Hopefully, my breasts will start growing again soon (could not happen fast enough).  I would love to have the problem of my breasts growing out of my bra all of a sudden and need a bra buying emergency.

I wore sports bra when my breasts started growing.. as said earlier push up and all that fancy stuff is a waste on just starting to grow boobs.

When I crossed A-cup I bought my first convential bra.

Now I am a C-cup and love push-up bras :-)

I had a terrible time finding a bra to fit, but eventually did, bought 2 and wore them forever.  Now though, after7 years, I HATE bras and refuse to wear one.  I'm an okay B cup, but hey....my boobs aren't that old, and perkier than almost all my age.  I've had women ask if I had a breast lift.  I'll never wear a bra again, period.

Yes, as I said, quite perky.  I don't generally talk about my nipples, but I guess they're average to smallish, and they never flatten out.  If someone wants to stare, I don't really care.  It's usually no big deal, but once at the hair dressers, a woman of about 80 spent her whole time while we were waiting, glaring the stare of death.  Death to the whorish woman who shows her nipples.  I simply smiled at her, let her glare, and read my magazine.  Otherwise, I find it amusing that young people sometimes stare.  Really now, they surely have no interest in a gay 61 yr old.
