I'm 18 and 5'5. Will I grow any taller (w/out T)?

Well I thought I was 5'3. Turns out I grew a little taller and I'm now 5'5. I'm an 18 year old biological female. I am wondering if I will grow any more without taking T because I don't plan on transitioning until I'm 24 or 25. I am just curious if you guys think 5'5 is short for a guy (last time I came on here I asked if you thought 5'3 was short and you guys said yes). Also like I said I'm wondering if I'll grow any taller or I'm pretty much done growing?

Well I'm 18 and 5'6"...and I sadly haven't grown since I was probably 15. ^-^;
But I started puberty early too...It's different for everyone really.

Since I'm a similar height to you, I'll give you some input and say that 5'5" isn't that short for a guy our age. I'm actually a few inches taller than most of the bioguys I walk down the hallways with at school. In a few years, though, that'll probably change.

I'll just leave you off by saying that I don't think height is a big factor in passing. I know I've seen plenty of older men shorter than me, and there's no doubt they were guys.

Maybe.

People are different and so no one can truly say if you will grow and if so how much.

I'm 5'5" and the same height as several of my bio male friends, so I don't see it as a problem.  Wouldn't mind being a few inches taller but *shrug*

Basically this, but I'm in mostly the same boat as you. I'm 19 and I believe I've had a tiny tiny growth spurt which I think would be my last and I went from 5'4" to 5'5.5". Not much, but I'm definitely more comfortable with that height than with 5'4".

And unfortunately I would say this height is definitely short, but short isn't really a bad thing unless you make it one.  :)

I'm also 5'5. It is short. 5'7 seems to be the short cut off for guys. I know 5'4 is supposed to be average for women, but it seems like a lot of girls are above this. I've had women say stuff like "Oh wow I never noticed how short you are." I did grow a couple inches after 18 and I'm not on T. After I've been on T for awhile, since its common for your feet to grow, I will prob get shoes that make you about 3 inches taller. Then I will look about average height.

5'6" or 5'7" is still considered short for a guy but seriously its not a big deal. There are plenty of guys who fall short of that mark. You might grow but there's no guarantee. But height isn't a reason to not transition. I'm 5'2" maybe 5'3" and I pass 110%, I had people argue with me and think that I stole my credit card with my female name on it when I was pre-T. I was shopping this weekend and black friday and I was taller or the same height as about half the guys I saw. The only thing that matters is wether or not you are confident with your height.

Don't even worry dude, 5'5" is short but it's a good height. One of my cis male friends is 5'5", and a lot of the coolest rock stars are about that tall too. I'm 5'0" unfortunately and I always envy people who are even two inches taller than me. But I see plenty of guys my size and they look fine. The most inspiring one I saw was a very small, skinny dude that sort of resembled how I think I'd look in thirty years, and he was an awesome dapper gentleman. :p

Height doesn't matter. Confidence does.

I've not grown at all since I was about 15-16. Although I gained a couple of centimetres from T. I'm destined to be short forever :)

i started puberty really early, around 12 or 13. i'd been 5'2" since i was 14, but i've started growing recently. now i'm somewhere in between 5'3.5" and 5'4". besides, as other guys have said, 5'3" isn't that bad. i see tons of guys that are my height!

Without T there is very little chance, but a lot of people don't stop growing until 25 so who knows.  =)  With T you could grow more at your age (some don't).  I grew two inches when i started T at 18.

Curious why you are not planning until so far into the future?

Yeah 5'3" is very short by male standards, some guys 5'3" and below are actually treated with HGH as teens to help them get taller.  I'm 5'8 and a good number of guys tower over me (I still feel short) =[  But I knew a bio-guy in high school who was 5'3" and he went into the marines.  Looking back, he fits a lot of the physical traits of skinny trans guys.  So don't be discouraged just by your height.

Hi Josh... Just to let you know, my best friend is a cis male and is 5'5, so I don't think it is an abnormally short height at all!

I don't know if you will stop growing or not ... my youngest daughter started puberty late ... she didn't get her period until she was 15 - not horribly late but later than her brother (he is an ftm).

For whatever reason she has been going through a growth spurt this year ... she is 20 years .. and she is already 5'10 ... looks like she is almost 6ft now ..

I don't begin to understand human growth ... clearly it is not the same for everyone.  Her brother stopped growing at 5'7 and would love to be as tall as she

Because I'm not 100% sure it's what I want yet. Also if my family finds out and isn't happy with it, they could always kick me out I guess. I want to make sure I've moved out and can support myself before any chnages happen.

It does seem to be that the earlier you go through puberty, the shorter you are. Strange.
