DS9 was an ok show, but I never could get into it.   And I actually disliked the Soap Opera feel that it had a lot of the time.   I think it's because it was about a space station and they weren't really discovering much.  (Until they got the cloaking ship at least.)

I have to say that my favorite of the different Star Trek Series was Voyager.   TNG was cheesy the first couple seasons, but it got to be good, but it started having that DS9 Drama feel to it at the end.

When they did Voyager, they got back into the Space Adventure aspect of the show's past and it was fun to watch.

Enterprise was an "ok" show, but they effectively destroyed Star Trek's Cannon with no regard to the fan reaction.  I think if they had at least TRIED to follow cannon, that show would have had a long life.

I will not go into the pros and cons of the various science fiction tv shows and movies as there is so very little I do not really like.  Suffice to say I love science fiction genre.

I will leave it up to you, to guess how I voted.

There does seem to be a correlation between ts and being a bit nerdy! :P

I think that the sci fi thing is a bi product!

Does 'Alf' count as Sci Fi?

I just knew someone out there would be a Doctor Who fan.
When I'm in the right mood, I watch the show. And occasional I like it.

I'm a fan of both Star Wars and Star Trek. I like the original Star Wars Trilogy and my favorite seasons of Star Trek are with Will Shatner as Captain Kirk.

Star Wars all the way for me, I couldn't really get into Star Trek much but I can see why others do.

Unfortunately the Star Wars franchise is still reeling from the shock of the 'Wookieleaks' revelations!! >:-) :P >:-)

The situation does look a little "hairy"!

Sean

I think Millie was referring to the #Wookieleaks that went (semi?) viral a while back and is a fun read for Star Wars geeks. If you haven't checked it out, do a search for it.

I love star trek because they seek peaceful solutions. However I play a star wars video game clones vs droids. I don't play the human vs human version because I don't like the idea of killing another human

I like both, but I prefer Star Wars because it's essentially escapist fantasy with sci-fi paint on it. Trek is actually science fiction and deals with overcoming problems and issues, which is fine if that's the mood I'm in. But I've always been a sucker for fantasy.

In that sense you get the best of both worlds with Star Wars - you get the tech and the traveling to other worlds as well as all the force wizarding and destiny junk.

Unlike a lot of sci-fi, Trek is actually positive and uplifting instead of dystopian. Star Wars is closer to dystopian than Trek. Things aren't shiny and pretty and idealistic in the Star Wars OT.
