Lot's of people (and for a lot of reasons, being trans is just one of many) have families that they have created as opposed to the ones they were born into.  So it goes.  Family is family after all.  So enjoy that.  In a whole lot of ways the family I've created is a lot more interesting and fun than the one I was assigned by birth.

I'm likely going to be sitting right in this chair online, or in the recliner in the living room playing the PS3. Sadly my mother lives too far for me to make a trip up there and my roommate's family completely hates me so, yea. eh, might decide to cook a gumbo or BBQ, so I can at the least have a good holiday meal, and food for the next week without needing to cook again.
Anything worth doing is going to be a challenge, after all, how can you feel proud of something that's just handed to you without some effort?
If I wanted the easy route I'd stick to being miserable, but that's just not my style.

Bayonetta is a good one just finished it last night, Devil May Cry 4, Smackdown Vs Raw, Assassin's Creed, Bioshock, Final Fantasy XIII, stuff like that, I mostly stick to action games but I like a few fighting games and RPGs. Also have the old PS2 for when I wanna hit up the older games. Man, the lack of backwards compatibility is a letdown with the PS3.

True, for a marketing perspective it can be since this means they haven't made their previous product obsolete and can continue getting sales on them, just makes me glad the old PS2 still works for me so I don't have to buy anything new to play my older games. Now if they redid the old games with the updated graphics, weeeeell, I might be tempted to repurchase a few titles >_>.

I agree the backwards compatability is a downfall...but love that it has a blue ray player and it cost me as much as buying just a blue ray player.

I haven't gotten many games for the ps3 yet...but I am working on it ... paying bills came first.  I tend to like the adventure RPG games the best.

Ahh, the head of marketing just pops a chubby right there at his desk thinking the same thing.  Watch, I'll stroke it for him and make it even harder --- "Hey boss, we don't even have to update them, just wait three more years make them compatible and nothing more and re-release the original as 'retro.'"   OMG!  He's about to explode, the thoughts of profit margins have his motors racing full speed, he's telling me "Oh Kat, I love the way you think outside of the box."  Then I'll give him the Karma Sutra move #3245, the one that's only in the hidden editions, and say: "Yeah, about the box, we need to use the original artwork on that box, that way we're keeping it familiar and nostalgic for them, and we already own that art school graduate dreck so that's not going to cost us anything either."

After he cleans himself up by typing a memo to his boss about his great new idea, he'll at least be a gentleman and take me out to lunch.

OK Tekla, that just cracked me up. Though I do know they would make a total killing if they re-released FF7 with updated graphics and voice acting, fans have been yelling at them to do that for years, they still haven't done it, they added onto the storyline, but still haven't updated the original like people been fussing at them to do.

Yea Rob, can understand that one, I tend to wait for games to drop in price a bit then buy them myself, the good ones end up on the $20 greatest hits rack most the time anyways, I'm in no rush, a better price is worth waiting for. I'm very very critical of RPGs though, they have to be done right, with a good, strong storyline, I'm like that with most games, it has to have storyline or it ends up becoming one of my "I just feel like beating stuff up" games that I won't buy any sequels of.

Anyways, ummm, seems we've kinda gotten off the topics here, uuuuhhhh. . .yea, oops, my fault.

OK, here is a great Christmas idea, if it's not raining too hard here I'll go do it in Santa Rosa.

A couple of years ago I had the idea that it might be fun to take photos of London without humans – yes, I was motivated by that scene in Westminster from 28 Days Later. Unfortunately, not being a film director I was not really in the position to have half of London sealed off for photos – but realised that on Xmas morning there could be an opportunity.

This is a pretty sweet idea. A touch of photoshop would remove any wayward hominids that intrude.

I miss my biological family but I can't fix the fact that they disowned me so I'm trying to be happy with the family I DO have this year.

That a super attitude to have - one I am trying to emulate  :)

I'm going to be having Christmas dinner with my roommates family. She recently came out as a lesbian, however her girlfriend is out of town visiting her own family for the holidays. So my roomie is going to be stuck explaning to all her family that I am not her girlfriend while I'm going to be dying inside from the hilarity of it all and chowing down on turkey.

Beat's last year :D
