I just commented in the "injection" thread and it seems I was misinformed about how often T is injected. My question is, if it is injected once every week or every other week do you have to pay for a vile or whatever each time you do it? How much does one usually run?

I inject every week, but I could switch to every other week if I wanted to; the vile will last as long either way. I have a vile that will last me a few months, not sure how many as my dose is going to change. My vile was around $60.

My doctor chose every other week but he might change that. I have no insurance and on my current dose if it's not changed my $60 vial will last me 4 or 5 months.

Oh, well if it lasts every couple of months that's not too bad. I assume insurance doesn't cover these things.

Most insurances don't, but it's not a bad idea to look into it just in case.

Agreed, look into it. If your insurance doesn't cover it though it can be done somewhat cheaply if you look hard. My doctors visit was less than 100, my therapy was 30 a session and my hospital is going to let me do a payment plan for bloodwork.

Edit: It took a lot of phonecalls and internet research to find reasonable prices. Some places offer a "self pay discount" and if your in college some doctors offer an in school discount. Just in case you didn't think of that, because someone had to suggest it to me.

Also, some doctors might be willing to code things in such a way that what you're having done does not appear to be related to being trans >.>

I inject every week, my vial is about 70, 90 if I get name brand. It lasts me 4-5 months. Insurance doesn't cover my T but it covers all my bloodwork and doctors appointments.

Is the name brand any different then the generic? Or is it similar to taking medication. I take some generic drugs and then seem to do the job. Is it similar with T?

yeah its exactly the same. Whether I get generic or name brand it is still the same dose and still testosterone cypionate. I only get name brand if the pharmacy I use is out of generic.
