Loved might be too strong a word, but hugely impressed might be more appropriate for:
The Fountain by Darren Aronofsky(starring Hugh Jackman and Rachel Weisz)
Saw this last night and it's like a hybrid of
2001, Solaris, Altered States and...
Love Story.

If you like the metaphysical and serious science-fiction, and also romantic films then give this a try.
A meditation on love, death and eternity, it's not an easy watch from a narrative point of view as it's non-linear, cutting between three related strands of an intertwined story but it
is an easy, seductive watch from a visual point of view. Scenes and images melt together in a gloriously languid way... one of the most beautiful-looking pictures I've seen for years.
With sensitive and raw yet restrained performances from the the two leads and gorgeously shot and edited. Haunting, poetic, intelligent, thought-provoking... something to sink your teeth into and be challenged by, many of the images and scenes will stay with you for days. One perhaps for repeated viewing; definitely not for fans of
Police Academy.
Stormy Weather rates this a B+
