So, interesting experience that I haven't had in awhile.
I was a hot mess this morning. Went to a party last night, got home, realized I ran out of makeup wipes, so did the best I could with soap, water, and cleanser, but still had a fair amount of black eye makeup left, then just said, "**** it!" and went to bed. Went to Waffle House for some breakfast before going to get makeup wipes. My waitress was friendly, but when I got up to pay, another waitress took my payment. To my left, two rednecks, one of which had been staring at me the whole time. To my right, a trashy-looking young white girl with two thuggish-looking young black guys. I got the impression that the waitress, an older woman in her 50's, didn't like me. This was confirmed when she said, "Was everything okay, SIR?" with extra emphasis on the word "sir." This made everyone on both sides of me crack up. Young trashy girl said, "wow..." while laughing. I just smiled, said everything was great and made sure to not break eye contact. She finished ringing me up and added, "Please sign here, <insert my male name>", making sure to say my name louder than any other part of the sentence. She was trying HARD to embarrass me, but I just wasn't going to let her. I left with my head held high and a cheerful smile plastered on my face.
I thought about getting her name and reporting her to her manager, but then what? Should I give her even more of a reason to hate? I didn't think it was worth it, so I'm just dropping the matter. It's sad when people treat you like you're the one doing something wrong. Oh well.
