Am i the only one who can NEEEVEEER get a purse strap to stay on my shoulder?

GRRRR!!!

I mean, i've come to accept that the current trend of very cute purses with really short handles don't work for me because the darned purse ends up right up against my armpit...but from time to time i find one with a long enough strap to look natural

But even then, every time I move down it comes! I'm almost walking side-hunched like Rienfield or something to keep it up there and if i use that arm for anything i'm probably going to have to catch a falling purse

doesn't seem to matter how wide the strap is either.

My purse has the long strap too and what I do is hook one part or the strap with my thumb.  And then hold the purse to me side.  Seems to work for me.

am not sure but it could be to do with posture
the female tendons in the shoulders tend to be shorter so compairabley women pull thier shoulders in

if its not the slope of the shoulders than maybe your letting it swing around too much?
most people tend to rest their arm on the bag, it does the job, and x2s up as a arm rest. might need to adjust the lengh of the straps though

Try wearing the strap over your opposite shoulder.

I have this lovely leather jacket with epaulettes and the epaulette catches and holds the purse strap nicely.  I can't wear this all the time so I have to hook my thumb into the strap to add more pressure and this normally keeps it in place.

This.  It's what I do and it works fine.

I always have the same problem so wearing the strap over my opposite shoulder is the only solution I've found that works.

I'll bet it's more posture than anything else.  Shoulders up, square and back, if you hold that the natural dip in the shoulder will hold the purse strap, and thin is better than wide, it digs in more and slides less.

I'm too thick for that - It was the first thing i thought of.

I do the "hold it with your thumb, press it to your side thing, which is fine mostly (though i still have to adjust it upwards every ...eh...five or ten minutes.

But that effectively makes you one handed. I'm not so much worried about not being able to hold it as what happens when i need to, for instance, open a door with that hand.
