So, I heard that one of the effects of estrogen is a decrease of cartilage across the body and a thinning of skin. I'm just wondering if this influences changes on the nose? (considering our noses are all cartilage and skin).

I had actually seen a few before and after videos and it seemed the nose had changed a bit, but thought it was just my imagination or the effect of the makeup / changed face.

Funny you should post this. I noticed cartilage "posing out" of the base of my nose in a pict from a couple months ago. (two months HRT) and I thought to myself, where the hell did that come from. I plan on RhinoPlasty anyways but I don't remember that there before. LOL

I hadn't noticed the changes in my nose until I recently started looking at pre-HRT pics of myself.. Forgive me if you've seen these pics already as I did post them in another thread..

Oops... I never did figure out how to post pics in the message.. here's the link:

That's me, 4 months before I started HRT.

That's a transition from human to elf, isn't it? ;) (in a good way...)

PS to post images in a message, put the url of the image in between [ img ][ /img ] (without the spaces) - if you click on the leftmost button above the smiley emoticons above the message text entry box, it'll insert those tags for you wherever your cursor currently is in the box text.

I was just thinking about this the other day   I was thinking my nose looked a bit different somehow, but I wasn't sure in what way...

I just looked again and I'm still not sure  ???  It's still my same nose but it just seems a bit different... Maybe I'm just getting old and crazy

lol, I hope hormones make my nose a bit smaller and similar to my sisters. It's not the books it's your facial expression and eyes. :P

I've experienced a bit of shrinking here and there. The shape of my nostrils has definitely changed, making my nose look narrower in a front profile. In a side profile, though, my nose doesn't look too different.

Perhaps it's not so much the nose, as it is the fat distribution to the face.

I think it goes bak to what we all have said,.., HRT affects everyone differently. I didnt do it, but now I see the importance of measuring and taking notes/pix on a weekly bases...The biggest change I see is my body shape and hair fuller and healthier....

Precisely!

HRT does affect where fat is stored in our bodies.  This may have a slight effect on the appearance of the nose.  However, if you have a hump, or your nose is generally too big, then don't hold you breath for HRT to make much of a difference at all.  At the two year mark I did rhinoplasty.  If you are unhappy with your nose, just plan on it.  Begin to save your pennies.  Unfortunately, there is not pill that will make your nose look magically different.

Best of luck!
