This is going to sound weird considering I was married for 15 years, but I've never had a girl I was interested in accept any sort of invitation from me. I was that socially awkward as a boy and I guess I was approaching it the wrong way. I did it like a girl and they obviously wanted a confident male. My ex approached me to (as she puts it now) boost my self-esteem. She was my first and only date, kiss and sexual experience.
Well, I met a girl a little while ago at a party and I found out later she thought I was cute. I thought she was cute too, but straight. LOL. She FB friended me and we started a bit of flirting. I then asked her out to coffee next week and she said she would love to!
I know it isn't a big deal. It may work out and it might not, but I feel like I've overcome another hurdle from my old life that shouldn't have been. It feels great!
Oh, and before anyone asks, yes, she knows about my unique history.
