I'm already out to immediate family and basically full time. I want to come out to extended family and make it SHORT AND SWEET. I don't really want to open up a dialogue about it, so I kinda just wanna say it bluntly.

I'm thinking of sending this text. What do ya think..?



"Hey ya'll it's Riley. There's some changes happening in my life that you need to know about. Starting tomorrow i'll be living as a girl. I will no longer respond to male pronouns. Don't worry about me. I'm still sane. Just pursuing what makes me happy. Thanks."

Sounds perfectly fine to me.

That's how I want to come out to extended family as well. We're all very close though and although I'm sure most of them suspect/know I'm still feeling awkward about saying. Especially because if I don't respond to my texts it's like a 30 minute drive to my house. I feel like most of them will be accepting but I'm still so afraid to say anything. I've also thought about maybe sending a mass email but you know, same fears and all that.

Thanks for the replies. Finnbeare I completely understand where you're coming from. It's scary. I know that they can't really do anything to me. They have nothing to hold against me/over my head, nothing to take away. But the thought of all their prying eyes examining me freaks me out.. And what they could be thinking/saying about me really scares me. Especially since I know that they're uber "christians"

I just slowly told everyone and those that I did not tell found out by everyone else.

i was never the one who told any of the extended family. my mom pretty much did that. she tells her brother's wife everything about our life. i just figured it was best not to do a formal announcement, and just do it. for the most part, the words spread, and probably all of my extended family, if not most, know by now. they do say, actions speak louder than words. when my mom first told my aunt about five or six years ago already, she still treated me as a male, but now that's another story. i'm seeing lots of people treating me differently now.

Yes, the Aunts are very good at the family grapevine, they already know.  I am seeing one today, she has limited mobility and wants her garden spaded.  I got a large extended family.

You never know how people will react. Calling my siblings uber christians is fairly accurate and they were very supportive of me.

The time to come out to my extended family is approaching so I would love to know how it went for you.

@hannah, the reason I put the word Christians in quotations was because they don't act very Christian like. They have made comments about me dressing before. And one actually told me that it was "disgusting". Also, theytold my mom that they didn't want her "encouraging" their kids to be gay.. Blah.

Oh. Then how you said it in your first post is good.

I plan to just post it on facebook in the future. so all will know and this crap will be over. I think that all them should come out as @$$h@#% just kidding kind of.

actuely that is in a verse. It is to them that would try to conform those that are in between genders to there idea of what truth is. They were so focused on male and female that it blinded them to the evedence of those that are in between genders. It was also to us to show us there unblief. sorry just had to say it.

P.S. Galatians 3:28 in this same chapter the first verse calls them foolish and they have been bewitched.
