??? Hey guys I'm a F2M transexual pre op.. In fact due to health issues I cannot even begin full transition. My body naturally produces high male hormones but I need the correct hormones to grow facial hair deepen voice ect. I try and dress masculine and put binders on problem is I still don't pass. I'm seeing a phych soon hopefully the medical side will have advanced enough for me to at least have hormones and breast surgery but I don't know hope you guys don't mind a fellow brother asking.

I'm pre-op, pre-hormones, pre-out! haha not even out of the closet to anyone except my gf.  I think a lot of guys are in that situation.  While I obvs don't pass either, I think attitude and confidence has a lot to do with it - something I'm trying to work on too.  People will think you're awesome if you act like it.. like they'll see an cool person as opposed to thinking "that isn't a guy." ya know? at least that is some advice my gf gave me and its comforting :) hope it helped.

It'll be alright. It sounds like you have everything in place with the psych & the doctors. I'm stuck not transitioning because as little health care as there is for the poor in the states, there's absolutely no health care access for the poor in my area. All I have is the hope that OTC supplements will help sort my thyroid/endocrine/hormone problems so that I can lose enough weight to be an acceptable enough female for someone to hire, so that I can save up and move to a better state. Without health care, and my states rules on having to have surgery before you can use a male name, I just don't see my transition happening here. But, one step at a time, we'll get there bro.

Wait, you have to have surgery in order to use a male name?! What the heck!? It's a name, you should use whatever name you want regardless of gender!

Well, yeah, since you can't legally apply for a job using a name that doesn't match your social, and you can't legally change your name in my state without having SRS.

The State Registrar of Vital Statistics is authorized to amend a transsexual's birth record upon receipt of a court order that the individual has had a legal name change and upon receipt of a physician's notarized statement that the person named on the birth certificate has completed sex-reassignment surgery.

Yeah, thought that was the case here. Surgery before name change. No chance to get a job under the premise that I'm just a big guy instead of a fat, unattractive female.

Sascraps hey bro that sucks that you cannot transition I can do some research about OTC meds if it would help.. I have thyroid and other health issues, I lived in the states for a time but returned to the UK health care here is free but it's a waiting game unless you can afford it also the phych and doc have to pass you health wise but at least I can try and be the best man I can be.

Yeah I may look it up here and see if there's anything else OTC besides herbal supplements for thyroid problems. I've also been thinking of and tempted to just go to the one hospital here and if they refuse to put me on their charity care because of my lack of income, then they just won't get paid in the end.  >:-)

Check that name change again. You can change your name and not be transsexual. That has no bearing on a name change. It does have bearing on gender change. The section you quoted is from the gender change section.

WEST VIRGINIA ARTICLE 5. CHANGE OF NAME.

ยง48-5-1. Petition to circuit court for change of name; contents thereof; notice of application.

Any person desiring a change of his own name, or that of his child or ward, may apply therefor to the circuit court or any other court of record having jurisdiction of the county in which he resides, or the judge thereof in vacation, by petition setting forth that he has been a bona fide resident of such county for at least one year prior to the filing of the petition, the cause for which the change of name is sought, and the new name desired; and previous to the filing of such petition such person shall cause to be published a notice of the time and place that such application will be made, which notice shall be published as a Class I legal advertisement in compliance with the provisions of article three, chapter fifty-nine of this code, and the publication area for such publication shall be the county.
