I know this may sound silly, but go to a wig shop. They are totally cool with us, we and cancer victims are there resource.

Again the Oracle of Adelaide is right!  Try a wig specialist, you will be able to try lots on.
Until you are actually wearing it you can't really tell what it looks like.  You should be able to get what you want.  I have a couple of synthetics that even a hairdresser has trouble picking from my own hair.
It's also about the most fun you can have outside of a shoe shop!!  Like a hairdresser where you can change your mind and start over.

I recently bought 2 wigs from one of those cheap discount shops.

They really were rubbish IMO and made me feel more dysphoric. It had taken me all that courage and guts to actually buy it and it was all for nothing.

I definitely need to go to a professional wig store.. Even though it might cause me discomfort and anxiety ... passing is a great outcome. Do it right

Personally I think your hair looks fine hun. But buying professionally should be the option for the more natural/better quality look.

I know this sounds silly , the first thing you will get in a professional wig shop is a coffee or a tea,  then you talk

Valerie ... I have always dreaded having to wear a wig every day and am contemplating A LOT of hair transplant surgery which will probably cost around £12-15,000 (roughly $20-25,000) ... But would you say from your experience that it's actually easier just to accept ones hairloss - the single thing I hate most about having a male body! - and wear a wig?

What about swimming/going to the beach? And, ah ... intimate moments!  ?

PS: That pretty blonde look is TOTALLY working for you, by the way ... !!

Even with hair transplants there was no way my hair would ever look as good as what I'm wearing now. It's easy to get used to getting compliments and all the rest that goes with a good look. It drops a good 10 years off my age. Great human hair wigs are luxurious. There's no reason to feel bad about wearing them. The key, to me, is to invest in them as if you were having surgery. It is just another cost.

The guy I was with last weekend was into me, it didnt bother him at all. I think he was focused on other things

Yep, professional wig shop is the way to go.  Even a decent synthetic wig properly cut to suit your head will work wonders.  Things like having the fringe (bangs) cut to the correct length make such a difference.
