Weird story!

So, hi everyone.  To start off this semi-weird story, I'll just tell you that I'm 18 years old and have been on hormones for 10 months.  Since breast development starts pretty early, I've had to wear a tight sports bra under my shirt to flatten them for around 8 months.  However, tonight was the first time that I couldn't find any of my sports bras and decided to go out without one!  So, at Wal-Mart my mom was helping me pick out a new bra/sports bra so I just went over to the frozen food for a moment and was subsequently approached by a Mexican man of about age 40 or so.  He asked if I spoke any Spanish and I said "a little bit" and asked if I could help him, so of course I said yes.  So, we went over to the sewing aisle with all of the thread and string and he was trying to find the right size of thread, since he could not read the numbers or something?  I'm really not sure.  Maybe he had bad vision.  So, that took about 30 minutes of comparing and telling him the prices and I was a bit lost in his poor English.  Then, he wanted me to help him with some toys for his niece, and I helped him with those prices and stuff.  He asked what grade I was in, I told him I graduated and he acted surprised.

So, then lastly we went to the pet aisle and he was asking me about what it says on the cat shampoos and how much they cost and all of that.  After about a whole hour, he was done, and I said "Thanks for teaching me so much Spanish!" to which he replied "You can teach me English, and I can teach you Spanish." and we both laughed and he said maybe we'll meet here again.  Then he asked my "nombre" and I said "*insert boy name here*" and he said he's Juan.  Then he said "That is boy's name.  You are chica/girl/woman."  Something along those lines.  Then I said "Oh, no.  I'm a boy."  He then said "No, no, you're not!" and pointed to my chest and I said "Ohhh, no, those are there by accident."  Flustered would be an understatement as to how I felt, so I didn't know how to tell him they're man boobs (which is my excuse if someone notices them.)  He kept acting like I'm joking and then he said "You like men?" to which I said "Yes" and then he said "You do?" and then I said "Oh, no!  No, I don't.  I thought you were asking something else."  After that we shook hands and he held onto my hand and said "But this look like girl's hand."  I just laughed at that and then left him and left the store very fast!

My mom thought he was a pervert because he didn't really even need my help.  He could have gotten an employee's help; and my dad said we're not allowed to go that wal-mart anymore.  It was a very surreal situation and shows the power of HRT to make you accidentally passable!

Can any of you relate to this?  I'd love to hear your stories of going out in boy's clothes but passing as female.

I used to work at Walmart. And before you ask, yes, it sucked more than any other job I've ever had. Including roofing.

Back when I was working, I had very long hair that I kept in a ponytail. And I would constantly get called "ma'am". One time, I was helping this older woman find some items. She came back a few hours later, and I was helping her again. She told me how she had told her husband what a nice young lady had helped her at Walmart, and that she really appreciated my help. I felt bad for whatever reason, and told her that I was a boy. Looking back on it, I should have just kept my big, dumb mouth shut. But this was during my "running away from being trans" stage right after high school, and my first real realization that I was not a boy.

Hi Zelda

For me it's not a weird story, I only have to see your picture.
I can only see a pretty girl.
I can imagine the confusion the Mexican guy had.
It seems to me that you pass perfectly.

hugs
Annette

That's nice that you were helpful to people, and so helpful that she told her husband about you!  It must be upsetting remembering that you told her you were a boy, but it's nice that you've come to realize that you're not a boy!  So if you ever encountered her again, you'd just be a nice girl :)  I regret telling that guy I was a boy, because it must have totally changed how he was thinking of me.

Also, thank you for your sweet comments, Annette (you have such a cute face in your avatar) and Brianna (chocobo!).  In that avatar, I'm wearing makeup; and makeup is sort of like cheating!  The weird thing about it is the fact that I was wearing boy's clothes and not trying to talk like a girl.

Yes, it was nice of me. This was before 6 years of retail killed any hope I had in humanity. Ironically, too, it bothered me at the time, that she thought I was female. Amazing how we delude ourselves to not face a simple truth.

I had a similar experience it was my catalyst to go full time.

Ironically I was dealing with the ->-bleeped-<- landlord it was how he figured it out eventually. It was the first time I met him and I was the one who handed him the contract. When we met he asked whitch one I was on the contract and as I'd signed it in febuary I'd used my male name. So I had to out myself and explain I was one of the boys names and he looked at me squinty and responded with.
"but... your a girl."

I also had a couple of unusual incidents when I was a teenager. A friends mother whom I went to a birthday party with. she repeatedly refered to me as "the girl with the glasses and brown/blonde hair." she refused to accept that I was a boy even when her own daughter told her.
"Thats a boy."
"no no that girl."
"Yeah... That's a boy."
"No it's not."

In summation enjoy it and don't reveal in future pick a girls name and stick with it ;)

Your better than me, I probably would have been creeped out and walked away.

Thank you for the compliment Zelda.
But you have a very feminine nice face too, don't doubt about it.
I would be jaw dropping too if such a nice girl tells me that she is a boy.

Zelda. You have a beautiful and very friendly face. I've noticed the same in your other photos.

It really is no surprise that you would be hit upon by some man in a store.

So Zelda, the obvious question is, why aren't you going full time? :)
