We have an opportunity to keep a fire under the ass of the New Congress. I have already started and was in DC for the big Jan 27th march. It was amazing. I have crowd shots that show the media as usual lied about the numbers - I say 1/2 mil easy. I was there also in Sept. 2005 which IMO was a bit bigger - apx 3/4 mil.
We the people put them in the house and senate and we did so for a reason and I for one wont let them forget the reasons. I expect changes big time, but they wont happen if we don't stay on top of it.
We are where we are because of our own collective complacency.
Kucinish is running in '08 and has vowed to look into 911 as well and is requesting information so that there can be a new and real investigation into all the discrepencies.
Exciting times ahead for America, but I believe it is gonna get way worse before it gets better. Bush vows to Surge regardless of what Congress says ( and the number is way greater then he initially said), remember he is the "decider" and now the "decision maker" too...sigh.
Iran is heating up with the help of Russia, NK is schizo as always and Iraq is a mess that WE started and the killing has got to stop. The lies surrounding the Iraq war are unfolding before our eyes finally in the msm because of the kind of work I do and those who get out there with me. This administration needs to go. I say Impeach both Cheney and Bush. 2008 is not something we should be "waiting" for. Things don't happen to people, people happen to things. Let's happen!

I agree wholeheartedly on the not waiting thing,  Bush and Cheney need to go, along with the majority of there regime<sp?>....

I actualy beleave they should be taken out of office, and placed before a tribunaral and tried for war crimes, and crimes against humanity....  My father and I have discussed this in great lenght...   He believes that it would cause the US to loose credability and face in the eyes of the world... I beleave that such an action would help the world view of the US....  We as a nation can show that we dont agree with what the current administration are doing, and actualy do something about it rather than complain and take poles that go nowhere and nothing...

WOO HOO you are like me! Yay. I agree completely that we need to put them on trial for war crimes and it is what the rest of the world NEEDS to see.
Also, the marches are so important because the foreign press is out in force at them and even if the US media ignors us the rest of the world NEEDS to see us in the streets. That is the only way they know we do not support these criminals.

Wow, so glad to meet a fellow activist here. We are all in this fight together.

I may as well warn ya all now I will be soon posting all kinds of political activism stuff here so get ready ;D

I'm an older person, not saying, LOL. I think the same way. I believe that Bush and his tribe have committed war crimes against humanity. I believe that he should be tried, but I don't think it will ever happen. As far a our appeal to the rest of the world, well, it went out when Bush decided to go against the UN and charge into Iraq. I guess he watched too many John Wayne movies. Nixon quit his office and he really didn't do anymore than any other President had done, except get caught.

the only way to [make changes] is to elect people who are willing and capable of making changes to benefit the people.  unfortunately, until we as a people can [get past] this whole democrat vs republican separation, most people will continue to vote for their [party] rather than vote for the person most qualified. it's time that we all unite and vote for the right person, [based] on his merit and things he's done in the past, not what party he's affiliated with.
i would like to see changes, but as the old saying goes, [united we will stand, divided we will fall], and right now this country is as divided as it gets.

I think perhaps too many focus one what appears to be the big picture.  As they stare at that ground, they miss all that goes by them on the journey.  The world is filled with fascinating creatures, colours, sounds, and environments.  But yet too many focus on what is far away and miss all of that wonder.

Like a pebble thrown into a pond, I have started working on changes on a very small scale.  A person here, a class there, and a private organisation or two.  Stopped glossing over things like local Ag commissioner and the Clerk of Courts.  Little ripples that will continue to expand.

yeah I hear ya on that. I love the way you write BTW.
I do stuff on a local and national level. Depends what and where...and of course there is always the how.

thank you.  :)

That is typically my style although the pressure of time usually keeps me from writing in a style I am more known for using.

For politics on the local level, I am hoping that some of the seeds that I have planted will grow and produce for the next generation.  Kind of a take from the, "I fight now so that my children will not have to later" mentality.  Of course battles and wars never end because people are people.
