Growing up I was always changing my name. I hated my first name, and it didn't help that nobody could pronounce it, along with my last name. I went through around 10 different names before I finally decided on Jacob. Why? Because of all the nicknames that can be derived from it. It's like having one legal name but never having to settle down with it. You see I got a lot of personalities and they are really opposite of each other, so I need names that suit them, names that won't make feel foreign in that personality. No I don't have DID. Anyways, because of having such crazy opposite personalities that take on a life of their own and may even seem like I have DID to others, the name I chose needed to be flexible. My first name change I chose Parker (this was a legal name change) and it was stupid because although the main 'me' loved it, the other me's hated it. So finally after a long battle and a year with the name I found something I think all my personalities can agree on. I also have three middle names which are great because I feel like I can use them and legally it makes sense.
So in the end, this is reason is why I chose Jacob. I also like it because it's really far away from my birth name.
