Although I am against transphobia (obviously), I am not offended by Gender Identity Disorder being in the DSM-(insert version). In order to obtain medical intervention on something, there has to be a reason. To me it is not saying that being transgendered is a pathology, but that the dysphoria caused by the mismatching gender is the pathology. Whether or not that was the intention for including it in the DSM, I don't know.
There are people who are autogynophiliacs, but that is completely separate from being transgendered. Although both involve dressing in "cross gender" clothing (physical gender, that is), they should not be lumped together. It is a clear sign of ignorance and bias when mental health professionals lump these two concepts together, since mental health professionals are well aware of the differences. Whether or not they "agree" should not be a consideration into this.
