I take a 30" waist in womens jeans and a 32 or 33 in mens jeans usually. Stupid hips.

I have mostly given up on jeans though. Try cargo pants, they hide hips nicely.

I was a size 8-10 in women's trousers (UK sizes), and in men's I'm a 30" waist, 30" leg. For now, anyway; once the fat redistribution actually gets its act together I may be able to shrink down to a 28" ^_^ Loose fit legs are good if you have large thighs too, like I currently have.

I ended up getting a 34x29 "regular fit" (whatever that means!) straight leg Rustler jeans. Didn't try them on, just got lucky that they fit. I'm not sure if I should have gotten a looser-fitting pair or if I'm just not used to the way that men's jeans fit.  In the future I'll probably go with a 34x28, I'm short enough that the 34x29s are still a little on the longer-than-usual side of things. Anyway, thanks everyone for posting.

You just order stuff and if it doesn't fit you can return it and then you won't have to fit it in busy shops.
Enough people I know order stuff from the internet because something they like isn't on sale in their size etc etc... no need to only get designer clothes and stuff like that.

this would do the trick for most guys. but some need a belt to keep their pants from falling all the way down to their ankles. like this one brother of mine, his waist size is so small compared to his length that finding anything that fits to a prize he can afford is near impossible, so he ends up relying on belts all the time

But then it costs too much.  Internet clothes is expensive enough as it is since, at least for me, everything is hand made and well detailed, the shipping does not help, and having to return it would double the shipping, because YOU have to pay the return shipping, usually.

A rule of thumb i have always gone by is to subtrace 20 from the mens size for the womans size. IE i wear a 38x30 and fit into a size 18 perfect.

Ofcourse it'll be expensive if it's hand-made and detailed :S but if you look on the internet like at Aeropostale, H&M etc. they are quite cheap. Zara costs a bit more but it def makes you look more mature and has a better quality. And ofc the expensive brands all have sales too.

Glad you found a size that fits. Buying pants definitely does suck.

Just wanted to mention for future shopping trips that people don't usually care if there's a girl in the men's department. I've been buying men's clothes since I was a little kid and nobody's ever given me a hard time about it. I do usually take the pants back to the women's dressing rooms to try 'em on, though. Honestly, I've felt more uncomfortable when I've had to buy women's clothes. I'm usually rocking the baseball cap/t-shirt/shorts combo and looking like a 14-year-old boy when I shop.
