Scene 2: Sandy returns with all dolled up and with a big smile on her face.
Sandy: Thank you! I can't tell you how much that means to me.
Julie: Well, what are friends for? So tell me about it.
Sandy: I just couldn't stand it anymore so I had to leave.
Julie: I thought you said you were thrown out.
Sandy: Did I? Oh well, it doesn't matter. I'm out. Speaking of being out...
They talk for several hours when a friend calls Julie. In all the excitement Julie forgot they were supposed to go out to dinner this evening.
Julie: Hi Judy!
Judy: Hey girl, are we still on for dinner?
Julie explains the situation.
Judy: Well I could just come over there.
Julie: Sure that sounds great! I'll run upstairs and fix myself up. See when you get here!
Julie tells Sandy the plans and then goes upstairs to freshen up. On the way she passes the guest bathroom and sees a horrible mess. She walks in and there's clothes strewn on the floor, makeup all over the counter. An open lipstick container had fallen in the sink leaving a red streak on the side of the sink and smashing the end of the lipstick. The bathroom was immaculate before and now it looked like a tornado hit. Julie then straightens out the mess and heads to her room to fix herself up, all the while shaking her head wondering what happened in that bathroom. When she's ready she returns downstairs.
Julie: Sandy, what happened in the bathroom?
Sandy looks puzzled.
Sandy: What bathroom?
Julie: The one upstairs you used to change in.
Sandy: Nothing. I just changed then came down here.
Wondering how anyone could miss the huge mess Julie chooses to say nothing. Then Sandy goes upstairs for a minute and returns.
Sandy: I just checked the bathroom. It looks fine.
Julie: Yes, I cleaned it.
Sandy: Oh thank you! How sweet of you!
