Spanish rice, the meal:  Made with 1 lb ground beef and 1 chopped med onion, browned; 1 chopped bell pepper and 1.5 cups rice steamed in a quart of my canned garden tomatoes for 20 -25 minutes on simmer after boil starts in a covered non-stick Dutch oven with cover.  Salt and freshly ground pepper to taste.  Salad with sun-dried tomato vinaigrette.

Following some research results on the body clock, and glucose and insulin level changes it causes, I have changed my eating and exercise habits drastically.

Breakfast was kippers, 2 eggs, and a tomato and mushroom sauce on toast.
Lunch a steak, baked potato and salad.
This evening I had soup and a couple of rolls.

I also walked the dog for 3 km in the afternoon, rather than in the morning.  I will follow this for a couple of weeks and see how it works out.

Well Jen, I guess Cinnamon and Thyme are just bark and twigs, so there is some sense in it!

Just had a snack of pickled herrings and some stuffed olives. ???

Well, I was hungry, and they were sitting in the fridge looking at me...

Fresh dug spuds, Yum.  I love the little ones, about golf ball size, steamed in their jackets with butter, salt and pepper.

Today lamb shank and roast veg.  Still not quite right, had the oven too high and cooked too quick. All the ligaments should go to a jelly consistency.

Still on the large breakfast and lunch with a light dinner.  Seems to make me a bit more alert and active from late morning on.
Today was scrambled eggs and tomatoes for breakfast, and lamb shank casserole for lunch.  Cooked for 2+ hrs in a 160' oven and the meat just fell off the bone this time. Nice.  Dinner will be a couple of leftover chicken enchiladas and a bit of salad.

Big breakfast is good, right now I am making some breakfast burritos, which are basically just a bit of sausage crumbled up, some scrambled eggs with some diced jalapeños scrambled in, and salsa on top of it all wrapped in a tortilla. Cheese, sour cream, and guacamole are optional, but I am trying to have less calories.
