yup yup!  3 years in the US Army right out of high school and when that didnt work, 6 years in the USMC....as we all now know, none of that macho mano y mano ->-bleeped-<- works! lol :)

Nope it sure doesn't. As a matter of fact it makes things much worse!

Let's see em girls! If ya have a before transition and after transtion pic, put em up so we can all see how transitioning makes us so much happier  :)  doesnt matter what you think of your appearance or living full time or not, or even whether you think you pass or not.....lets see em all  ;)

In the words and spirit of my idol, Madonna.......come on girls, express yourself!

You know what's really frightening?  You look A LOT like a friend of mine who told me, after I'd gone full time, that he wished he'd had the guts to transition and that he would have if not for his kids. :o  You look so much like him I had to check your profile to make sure you weren't. lol

Nope don't think I'm that person... You don't look familiar!

I've had a few people stop me on the street in the past and tell me that I look like someone they used to know. One person even stopped me and called me by my (old) name. It turns out that he went to school with someone who not only looked like the old me, but had the same first name. That one was a bit creepy!

Nothing compared to the transformations posted here but slowly getting there.

What an amazing transformation, Arbon! ;D  Forgive me for saying this, but your before picture really reminds me of Peter Krause (Six Feet Under was one of my fav shows of all time).

I remember there was a thread like this long ago ( ~10 months ago)... To be honest girls, you are awesome.  So much inspiration from this thread.  I have definitely been slow in my transition; mainly because I have "the doubts" about passing.  But, this is inspiring.  To everyone that has posted, really, I have to say awesome transformations into the person you are on the outside to reflect the person you are on the inside.

Okay... I haven't participated in one of these threads for a while, so here goes.

This was last September:

This was this month (at Toronto Pride):

This shows my ACTUAL progress to date, since I'm not wearing makeup or breastforms (or bra).  At this point, I'm even, in certain situations, getting brave enough to forgo the wig!  The Rogaine is working its magic, and in a few weeks, I'm going for hair extensions.  I'll re-post then...

Oh, and in that first pic, I was TRYING to smile!

Aw, what the heck... a pic of my actual hair also (self-taken)...

OK, so my turn.....first pic at 29 at a wedding......second pic me at about 30 1/2ish......gym regime and HRT working their magic......!  Unfortunately Ive put a few pounds on since the second pic.....so currently on a major gym regime to sort it out!  Thoughts welcome!

And yes, I know I need to sort out my eyebrows....!x

SarahH,
Thanks so much for sharing your pictures. I've been struggling with beginning HRT due to worries about still not being able to pass. I know it's vain but I want to be viewed as female by the world. There is a potential big price for coming out and to pay that price and still not be able to live as female would be horrible. You have given me confidence that HRT can and does make a big difference. To me it's the face and high waist line that define the female shape. A nice firm bottom and breasts are lovely and I desire them but my face and male mid section are true give aways. Congrats to you!  Love, Rachael

Thanks Annah. There is no doubt about Jamie's beauty, I am in total agreement there. But I would take Annah's results in a heartbeat. Worry about HRT not really making a big enough difference is the main thing holding me back.  Rachael

Okay, I'm early on in the transition stakes here, but this is a fun sequence of me from 16 to now - and you can see how much I was wobbling over the gender line during all those years! And the hair ::).

(someone just emailed me the "counter-revolutionary canalboat captain" pic so I was moved to add it to the emsemble :)...)

Yeah, he was cute :) - and I should point out that the dubious smarmy facial expression in that pic was because me and my girlfriend were posing to take the piss out of the royal wedding postage stamps that were just out at the time ;D:

Damn right ;D - I have a photo of me from when I was 28 (which I'll spare you) where I look older than I do now. Being happy is good for the looks :).

I really like the pic of me when I was 16, because it's the first ever photo of me with a smile on my face - it's a school photo, and I deliberately took off my specs because I was about to get contacts for the first time and wanted to see how I'd look - but the smile was also because it being the 70's, I could get away with growing my hair long :D :D.

Maybe a different hairstyle would make a really big difference?  :)

I'm about 4 months along in my transition, so not too much change I guess. But here is a before pic from a few years ago. it's unique in that its the only time I've ever been photographed with a goatee. ever.

and in 2000
And here's me just before I got my hair cleaned up because it was looking a bit ragged and messy. and so I could give some of my hair that's coming back, a chance to catch up.

and me now.
