I have my first treatment of IPL tomorrow @ A$150 per session . The lady I spoke to said I may need up to ten treatments but, that is a lot cheaper then the original laser that I had 14 years ago at a cost of A$800 a session .
My facial hair is quite sparse due to waxing for the last 4 years, I get maybe less then ten hairs on my lip nowadays compared to about a hundred a few years ago. The lady I spoke to today also said that waxing is good because it weakens the hair follicle, making it easier to destroy with the laser. I will find out anyway. I will be happy with any result and are prepared for any let down as the treatments aren't perfect though every little bit helps. My hair is borderline ginger / dark brown with a few white's btw.
I might also add that the lady did show me another machine that is similar to needle electrolysis except that there is no needle and that instead the hand piece clamps onto the individual hair and then sends the current through the hair. It is roughly the same cost as electrolysis but, there is no risk of scarring and is eventually going to supersede it. I will ask again tomorrow the name of that machine.
And yes I have plucked individual hairs on my face before, many times. it takes several hours to do the whole face lol.
