A small river running the steep walls of the canyon it has carved out to Lake Superior on the north shore. The falls and the sound of water rushing through the rapids is humbling.

aspen leaves trembling slightly in a breeze

snow falling in a silent winter night

a hat brushing the microphones on a hearing aid.

nearly inaudible, but a blanket being rubbed against skin to warm up.

very soft footsteps and paw-steps on carpet.

(perhaps more disturbing: a very soft-pitched, constant humming-like sound that experiences no change in pitch. you think it's a washing machine, but are informed it is a woman screaming in her room. sad day.)

May I assume these sounds are things we like?  Mine are the crackling of a large fire, surf breaking on the shore, rain falling, wind in the trees

a couple mice running on the floor

leaves dropping off the trees in fall

People are writing things that way, but I suppose the thread is just an excuse to write something that drifts without really drifting.

I personally like the sound of large caliber weapons and the smell.

Heartbeats. My head on someone's chest, listening to their heart beat. My girlfriend, my boyfriend, my dog. Doesn't matter. I love hearing the sound of someone I love living.

(This is weird) But I also love hearing someone's stomach gurgling. I have a huge fascination with internal organs and intestines though.

@sunny: it is the same singing, only difference is that bady-dorzhu is a true master of the style who has been taught by one of the best of the old masters. i seriously like his voice, and i've even been lucky enough to meet him irl. only years after meeting him did i learn how great he really is in his homeland..

Taka: ah ok.  That's really cool that you got to meet him.  You'll have to forgive an untrained ear like mine for not knowing the difference in skill.  I'm feeling quite lucky that I was even able to draw the connection in the singing style, really, lol
