Hey guys, so I've only been on T for around 2 months, but it seems like I'm starting to grow a 'stache! I've never had a hairy upper lip, so this is really random, and I don't seem to be getting any added hair on any other parts of my body. In the space of a week it's gone from a couple of hairs to a visible shadow, so now I don't know what to do about it.

On the one hand, I love having it there, it's fun to stroke it and feel like something is actually happening, but on the other hand, I still completely look like a chick! So now I just look like a woman with a mo. :(

It's not overly noticable, but it can be seen in the right light (a work mate has commented on it) and I don't want to look like I lack personal grooming. Should I shave it off and get rid of the only sign I seem to have that the T is working (apart from the godamn breakouts!), or keep it and just try to ignore the odd looks? I just don't know. :( So have any of you guys noticed this kind of growth in the first few months, and do you think there's a chance the rest of my face will catch up soon, or is it more likely that I'll just have this little wisp of mo for months? If that's the case I suppose I'm better off shaving, but I don't really wanna... T.T

Oh, I should say I'm completely out at work, so it won't jeopardise my job or anything. :)

wheat thins are delicious

I started to get a "mustache" (a few hairs scattered across my upper lip) one or two months in.  I left it because it made me feel good and it was a sign (though there were others) that T was working.

Nine and a half months after my first shot and all I've got as far as my mustache is concerned is a shadow.  There are hairs there but they are not very thick or dark.  My chin on the other hand is getting quite hairy.

As far as the rest of your face catching up, ymmv.  T affects everyone differently because all humans have slightly different chemical and hormonal differences.

If you want to keep it do, if not don't, it's basically about your comfort level.

I'm at 9 months...not really much going on in the facial hair development area that anybody else has noticed. I think there's maybe 5 dark hairs split between my chin and upper lip. Couple hairs by my sideburns, too. You could do what I do and shave about once a month. It gives you enough of an idea to know what other people are thinking/seeing but allows you to have the fun prickley feeling.

I would shave it until you can grow something worth growing. I remember in high school there was this kid who could grow a couple hairs on his chin and he refused to shave them. Even when they were getting really long. Immature facial hair looks really bad.

I always had really fuzzy cheeks and kinda hairy upper lip but it was really fine and practically invisible.

I've now been on T for 9 weeks (just had my 3rd shot), and I've started shaving. My 'stache started getting darker hairs about 1 month in, and a few little hairs under my chin so I figured it was time to start shaving before it got too straggly looking.

I left it alone over the weekend to see what i've got so far and my chin/under the jaw has a little patch of sparse stubble and the 'stache is darker but nowhere else.

Maybe you'd be better off shaving for a while and maybe once the T has worked its magic a bit longer, let it grow over the weekend to get an idea of whether theres enough to be worth growing out? (or at least thats what i'm doing lol)

In England we call that not-quite-ready-yet facial hair "bum fluff" :). If it doesn't look natural to you yet, then you might as well shave it off until it grows through thicker. Shaving will also give you more shadow, as the hair ends will be blunter (and will rough up your skin, which is a "sign of masculinity" I've been trying to avoid for years... ::)).

Awesome, thanks for all the advice guys (and gal) :P I don't have work for a couple of days, so I think I'll leave it until just before I have to go, then shave. At least that gives me a couple of days to say goodbye to it. :P

It's not goodbye, it's only à bientôt :).
