Not trans related but shows how hormones can have a wide impact

Exposure before birth to chemicals that mimic potent hormones may be predisposing people to gain weight, a panel of scientists said at this year's American Association for the Advancement of Science conference.

The researchers aren't necessarily saying that exposure to these estrogen-like chemicals causes people to become obese, but that it increases the likelihood that they will gain weight when eating a high-calorie, high-fat diet.

I would just like to point out the "Well...duh!" factor of anybody being more likely to gain weight when eating a high-calorie, high-fat diet.  I'm pretty sure that the reason I have thighs to sink nations has a lot more to do with a high-calorie, high-fat diet than any number of chemicals I may have been exposed to prior to my birth.  Now if it caused people to simply gain more weight than others regardless of dietary measures, I would've thought that research worthy. Sorry, I'm training to be a snarky research scientist.  >

In fact, I was studying this general subject today, but relative to chemically induced endocrine disruption.

It is a fascinating and sobering subject, especially from the perspective of a TS girl.
