3 months in and my breasts are forming big time.
the strange thing is my nipples have golf ball sized buds behind them. They only hurt if i hit them, in fact just touching them gets me aroused, the strange thing is my nipples dont seem to stick out, its like they are being squeezed by the buds. Is this normal? I dont see my doc for another week

I'm not a Dr, but it sounds to me like you're pretty much right on schedule     Breast development is different for everyone, but often will be a rather slow process that will take a few years to come to fruition

I've noticed most of my major changes about every three months 

@Jillian: Yeah, that sounds pretty normal.  I'm about 5 months in.  At this point, my nipples are very tender most of the time, I can't lie on my stomach any more.  But hey, if they don't hurt, they're not growing! 

My "buds  and nipples" started developing at around 2.5 weeks. So, I guess what you describe is pretty normal.

About 2 weeks in, I noticed my nipples would get very large and round on occasion, but would then shrink back to male size. Occasionally one of them would be large and the other small.

Then about 3 1/2 months in, they are permanently large. Yay!!!

I haven't noticed any actual breast growth yet, but I certainly feel something going on. It's a wonderful feeling.

On the other hand, some people can be on hormones for several months and experience less than the golf ball you described. Your situation seems to be the most common outcome, but the norm is quite a variable. Even for those with favourable genetics, breast growth might not happen. Starting hormones at 17, and having a family where the smallest breasts are a D is no guarantee for breasts... it just makes it very likely.

Kind of half a rant there. :p Here's to seeing whether or not trying other delivery methods of estrogen will help with that. It would be nice to not need FFS at my age.

how long does it typically take to reach full size, I am about a year in , I am worried that they might not get to a size that I will be happy with. also will breast accelarate after SRS.

As I understand, it takes about five years, but everyone is different and will have different results 

I've been on HRT for nearly two years now and have full B, nearly C Cups and still get sensitive nipple pain on and off... It has been interesting watching the girls go through various stages of development from rather pointy mounds to taking shape... But, admittedly, the enthusiasm has worn thin and it's become more of a "Yeah, there they are..." kinda thing and I wear a bra more out of necessity than a want or desire...

I'm beginning to understand why CIS Women I've known are so relieved to take their bras off after a long day

ive been on hormones a month and a half and right now have a small A cup, before i started hormones i did have minor gynecomastia which i think helped =) mine jiggle and are a hand full already =P im surprised because i have a very petite and lean build. yet im curvy? haha

I have some gynecomastia too and wonder how much that will help me.  I've also got a lot of fat there and can about fill up a b cup if I push everything in from the sides, but that is probably cheating.  When I start HRT, do you think the fat will help me with breast size or pull my breasts down.  Currently they are not perky at all and the fat is mostly under arm on my chest.

hmmm im not sure, its hard to say because hormones work so different on everyone. mine luckily are already an A cup and perky =) so im excited for results, and like i said im lucky in the fact that im petite skinny yet have curves? if that makes sense. my gynecomastia, i believe to have gave me an advantage. so i think yours should too =)

I have definite boobage after 5 months but they're so tender and hurt if rubbed roughly so I try not to catch them with anything accidentally like a towel when I'm topless.

I have been on hormones for about 20 months and am now a nice 36B.
First month on hrt nothing but after that my girls have made there present felt.
My breast have hurt on and off for most of that time.
I no longer sleep on my stomach not only when the girls hurt but all of the time.
It's just so uncomfortable to smash my breast into a mattress. 
The buds have never been golf ball sized but get real firm and have hurt off and on.
Right now they (buds) hurt, yea that means more growth, and are about 1.5"or 3.81 cm in diameter.

:/ Ive been on hormones for about a year and am only a 38AA... Peaves me off. I do measure 37 around though. If I wear a nice pushup bra, then Im content.
Ha! Thats so funny, I dont think men have any idea how frequestly they lay on thier chest. That does stop quite quickly when theres breasts pocking you and being sqeesed.
First thing that I noticed were that the areola were larger and darker at the same time as they were getting poufy.
Im starting another spurt now, I hope I can get up to an A. Id actually be quite happy being stuck at an A since I have a smaller frame and since I have not decided yet if Im going to transition fulltime yet or not. Id be happy to be able to keep my old job with my old body but have the right body at night and weekends for now.

i always slept on my stomach now it hurts, and im so not used to any other way it drives me nuts! =P

also 3 months in i find my my nipples larger but my boobs shrank this week yet they wider so yea my buds is also shrinking so i am confused but you sound on track

I got breast pain and all-around soreness a month after I began an HRT regimen that finally brought my T down (spiro didn't do that at all for me).  That pain lasted for two months and hasn't returned in the three months since.   I can sleep on my stomach and I don't feel a thing.  There also hasn't been any growth in the three months since and my T levels are definitely suppressed.  I got about half a 36A in development and that's it.  However, my band size has gone from a 38 to a 34 in the last five months and I now wear a 34B.

Really hoping I start development again, because it makes me sad thinking that those two months from the beginning of April to the beginning of June are all I'm ever going to get.

My breast grow in little spurts.
At one time I was almost a 38" band size but now I'm a 36".
But my nipples have not grown much.
I am still waiting for more changes in them.
