omg...omg...I just scheduled my breast reduction with the surgeon Cyndi went with...down in Portland. If it goes smoothly...I'll be under the knife in less than a month from now.

I'm so excited...and beyond nervous. Wow.

I'll go from a DDD to a very perky C. He said he shapes the breasts in such a way that they end up looking like you'd gotten an enlargement (if the person looking on didn't know what you looked like prior to surgery..) and that is rather appealing...honestly. He also does the surgery in a slightly different way and puts the blood supply above the breast, rather than below (or something?) which ...I didn't fully understand, but what I did understand is the difference it makes in the finished product a few years down the road.

I was thinking about postponing...due to my weight still not being where I'd like it to be but the bottom line is I'm not really fully losing breast tissue...not that much. My cup size is the exact same as it's ever been. I brought up the concern that if I continued to lose weight I'd lose from my breasts but he assured me that's quite unlikely. It's equally unlikely that my body would add mass to my breasts as long as I don't gain any excessive amount of weight back.

It's not like I"m going to completely stop losing weight after surgery. Yes...there is a possibility that I'll be unhappy with my proportions after surgery. Yep. Very possible. As I continue to work on my figure and body through working out and (getting back to..) a better diet...my body will continue to shrink.

I did take the summer off...pretty much. Thankfully I've really not gained any weight back. As of this morning I weigh 207, down from my highest weight of 233. I think that's still pretty stinkin good.

The other nice thing about this surgery is that he'll remove the under arm/side fat in ("side boobs") addition to breast tissue which will be nice. The other surgeon I looked into won't do that. She also focused on function alone, rather than function AND appearance. I mean...honestly. I care how they look. Otherwise I wouldn't have surgery!

Nervous...and very very excited.

A main focus for this surgery is to be able to hide them a bit better. Rather than them taking up my whole chest, and a good deal of my abdomen...I can (eventually) bind better, and just hide them in larger shirts. IE: be more ambiguous.

For the first few months after surgery, perhaps even the first year...the "perky" factor may make it really difficult to bind, or hide them. When you tighten the tissue up...I suspect that *maybe* this will still be difficult. I'm not going to assume it perfect right away but...I'm excited to finally be on the path of making some progress with this.

Again, I'm so outrageously excited for you, Sevan! It's been a lot of stress, waiting for this... I can't wait until it's done, and you are all recovered, and feeling great. *hugs*

I am really happy for you, Sevan. As a bio guy, it's easy to stuf my bra like any other flat chick, but breast size is one of the rare cases where it is easier to add than to take away. I can't even imagine how excited you are!

Surely this post needed to be the one titled 'something off my chest'.

May you find some of the contentment you seek.

3 days left. Wow. I just....don't know what to say beyond that. I'm feeling very very ready but very....unprepared as well. I have tried to conceive of what I'll look like after surgery, prepare my mind for what is to come but...I can't seem to wrap my head around it.
I'm nervous.... definitely getting a bit of the pre-surgery jitters but...ready.
We pack up tomorrow, we leave Wed for Portland and then...Thurs is surgery!

Wow, there's one lucky bastard with a whole new life ahead of him! I sooooooo envy you, man!  I'm only at the beginning
of it all really, have waited far too long, listened to the wrong people, bothered too much with what people might say....
so stupid! I wish you the very best of luck and hope it's not going to be too painful! But what's physical pain that can be
ended compared to living your life in a fish bowl? I seriously mean it, I hope you understand.
