hey guys don't be so up tight my mother has called me funny and feminine nick names but boys are given them to in fact i mean zoey loves them i don't. now! no guy will admit it but all boys get them so y not just embrass it to show your security in your masculinity if you can rock those then your a gr8 dude

Since I've come out to my dad, he's been trying to avoid pronouns and names completely. This means he's sticking to nicknames. He's dreadfully in denial about me, so he uses the most emasculating one he can think of; one I begged him to stop calling me when I was like, 13 (and he did then); 'baby'. Its driving me insane, and its creepy when hes using it ALL the time. Its like an old guy hitting on me, while simulateously boring the crap out of me with baseball statistics (i'm a football guy) every time I call my dad. (Hes even gone as far as stopping watching football, so he *can't* talk about it with me. Ugh.)

i get called parky as a shortened form of parker but i dont mind but i think i would be bothered if people where calling me maxi but i dont really think its all that feminine.

Bug and Pooker.  No idea where pooker came from, but when I was 3 my mom dressed me up as a green bug for halloween, and I insisted on wearing the costume as often as possible untill It got to small, so thats where bug came from.  My parents dont really use them much any more, but neither were really feminine though.

Most of the nicknames that my family gives me rhyme with my birthname,
And are generally degrading...Curds in whey (I'm not even kidding,) My sister used to call me Kirby...like the pink blob from the video game, which I actually didn't mind.

My father used to call me Kiddo, or Kid, which I loved to death because it actually felt masculine, I'd prefer it if he called me that instead of my birthname. But he doesn't like my chosen name and refuses to use it, he thinks it's girly anyway. Guh! Darius is not girly!!! It's not my fault that mothers are deciding to name their girls with a name originally given to boys! EUGH!

Oh, I used to get 'Lovebug' for a while to from mum, but luckily that stopped, now most of my family just calls me 'Miss *Insert birthname*' Which I loathe...

I agree with Parker/anibioman.  The only feminine thing I see about it is that some sanitary napkins/pads are called Maxi pads.  Now I just associate the name Maxi with Maxxi (a guy) from Skins G1.

My mom calls me Jellybean.
It worked out fine til about six years ago, until it became my best friend's rave name.
I feel like she took the name from me.
My girlfriend calls me Mickey Mouse on occasion. I giggle.
My birth name is very male, and can't tell if I want to stick with it, but it makes me think that I will not have to spend money on a name change..

The only thing my mom called me by was hun and she called my brother that too so it don't bother me. My dad is big on the my little princess and he constantly calls me his daughter. I hate it.

Eh, my mother does that thing where she tacks a fake word onto the end of my birth name that rhymes (ex: Rachel-Tachel, Sarah-bear-uh, Katie-batey). I don't blame her, since I haven't come out to her yet and she doesn't know, but it gets to me sometimes. She used to call me Bean, but that stopped a while back.

My father, on the other hand, knows about me and acts as though he understands, but makes a point to call me 'sweetheart', 'honey', or 'beautiful' as he did before. He also likes to add in unnecessary pronouns/ "my daughter"s when we're out around other people. (ex: "My daughter would like to order.../She would like to order..." when we're at restaurants).

My grandmother calls me swifty, but she also calls my male cousin swifty, so I don't mind as much. She used to call me Missy, but then she got a dog named Missy, so... Yeah. I love that dog because of that.

How about you don't tell us how to feel?  If someone is called a name and doesn't want to "embrace it" they should be able to stand up and say they don't like it without being called "insecure with our masculinity"
