So I am in need of clothing help. Most of what I have, aside from a few shirts, are lady clothes, and I want to start changing my closet. My biggest problem is with pants. I have a fairly small chest (34B), but I have a very curvy figure. I hate to wear pants up around my waist, and the size difference between my hips and waist is quite noticible. My waist is 34 inches, but hips are 41. When I do find a nice pair of slacks or jeans, they are always either too long, or have to go up to my waist and over the belly button, and it does not hide my shape very well.

Any advice on what type of pants to wear? What hides curves the best? Is it better to get pants that go to my waist, or just get longer ones and hem them myself?

I don't know how to deal with too much curves and such 'cause I don't have any trouble with that.

But it's simple enough to re-size the pants that fit nicely but are just too long. I do it from time to time. Especially working pants come in bigger sizes.. >.<

Have your pants sit lower. Pre T my waist was 33 and hips were 47. I wear my pants right below my muffin top. I try to buy as code to my length as I can so it all comes together in the right places.

Hmm, well with pants (asdfghjkl i call them trousers lol) my hips are 32" around, so i normally go for one size down 30" because the legs seem to be shorter and then i have to put them on around my waist and then just pull them down low on my hips so i can hide the figure, my hips have a huge difference with my waist too (32" hips  23" or something waist DX) ಠ_ಠ

With that try wearing hoodies (with zips and un-zipped might work more) then it would hand down straight-ish and give the effect of a body like this --> |  | instead of curvy --> 8  (<-- fail example lol)

Also my spine is quite curved and my butt is big due to being sat down all the time
((forgive spelling i suck at it) damn girl fat distrubutionಠ_ಠ) ,

i found a solution to that with the whole hoodie thing and also as i walk i push my hips forward and my back is slightly leaned back (not too far or it'd look weird) because the hoodie is hanging down straight at the back and so my butt looks smaller and more male lol xD.

ಠ_ಠ hope that helps, i normally suck at giving advice but i try ಠ_ಠ

Oh and try one size up from what t-shirt size you are, that helps too (atleast for me but it might for you) but careful or else the t-shirt will look too long and just a tab awkward ಠ_ಠ

Thanks for the advice! Honestly, when I was younger and before the lady hips came, I could rock the suits. I had some really nice ones until my dad made me throw them away.

I will certainly try to go with my actual hip measurements and probably have to hem the pants, but hey, the extra work is worth it. My partner is thinner than I am, so while I could wear his pants before, I can't even get them on now. He is actually thrilled to take me clothing shipping, which is fortunate, he is a much better dresser than I ever could be.

I do think that the wearing longer/bigger shirts helps, I just don't want to look like I am swimming in my clothes, which is easy given my measurements. I am so jealous of guys that don't have the hourglass shape. ;_;

try getting pants with a low rise. brands like levis have a lot of different lengths.

Natkat

wear pants who are straight in the legs,
meaning when you fold them from the bottom and up they dosent get smaller but stay the same size.

and dont wear anyone who are too tight,
so like this;

and not like this;

would be my advise

mmhmm, I found that if i roll up the sleeves on my jumpers/hoodies helped, where as if i just left them it made the clothes look really super baggy, rolling up the sleeves made it look like it was supposed to be that way, and if the t-shirt was too long i either just cut the lenghth off or tucked the back into my belt so it couldn't fall any lower than i wanted, and then the hoodie hid what i did there too lol.

I'm super jealous of guys that don't have the hourglass shape too, although i think im more pear-shape *Horror* >_> Doesn't help that i eat when depressed (100002% of the time lol) Yeah don't worry there are Cis-guys out there with the hourglass shape and pear..., i personally think it looks kinda cute when guys have a sort of girlish figure XD

ಠ_ಠ shame im a pear. *walks off into my emo-pear-corner and sulks* (lol XD)

But yeah like everyone else said low straight-leg trouses or "pants" and maybe one size up in t-shirts.

I have very much an hourglass shape. I suggest getting shirts that fit in the hip and are too big in the shoulder then get them tailored (this is mostly for button down shirts). Or, try to get shirts that are the right sizes. There are a few things on youtube about clothing for shorter guys...which can also help make you look slimmer. I find that my binder (underworks 997) helps fill in the gap at my waist and binds my hips.
