Androgyne Wheels: What do we drive or ride?

I drive a 2000 Acura Integra with manual transmission. That's where I practice with my female voice CD. Neither my wife nor daughter can drive a stick shift.

I ride a yellow Fuji I bought used during the '70s for $90, to which I added custom wheels. I rode everywhere when I lived in Chicago and in Michigan (up to 100 miles a day), but I get scared of roads and drivers here in Massachusetts. Boston is becoming friendlier to bikes, but I'm not in Boston. And if I'm riding for pleasure, I like to ride with a friend.

Hiking is fun. With a friend, I do the twenty mile Project Bread Walk for Hunger in Boston each May and dream of hiking Isle Royale end to end. Mostly, though, my hikes are for shorter distances. There's a nice trail along the river where we live.

Rent a canoe or kayak from time to time.

I, too, love to fly. I've taken lessons in Michigan and out here, and soloed, but money always gets to be the deciding issue. I represented U-Mass Lowell at a hand gliding meet once. I built a Pelican Ultravia ultralight, but got divorced and moved into an apartment before flying it.

I ride Louisville's ye olde TARC buses.  And here's the crazy part: I don't hate it.  My friends can't comprehend that riding a bus is actually a mostly pleasant experience.  I don't have a car payment, insurance payment, and I don't have to pay for gas.  I never have to worry about a car making strange noises and how much that will cost.  The stress relief alone makes me reluctant to purchase a car when I do get the money for it.  It is a bit inconvenient at times, but that's when you beg a friend and offer to buy them a beer (not while driving, of course).

Also, I read not long ago an article that talked about how daydreaming relieves stress...guess what you do on a bus?  Listen to the mp3 player and daydream.  Nice.

I used to have a Grand Prix, but it died and I had, for a few months, a bright green Mazda-2.  But I'm a poor student and nobody wanted to own my loan, so I had to turn it in (I got my down payment back in full, so it's all good).  I still prefer the bus, although that green Mazda was CUTE.
If curiosity really killed the cat, I'd already be dead.

Where else could this be posted without attracting a surfeit of replies concerning pink Vespas, red Mazda Miatas, black Ducati Monsters and BMWs with 19" alloys! Apologies for the stereotyping there. :)

While hoping not attract endless replies about Hyundai Accents I ask what do you lovely people ride or drive?

Hoping to suitably (un)impress you I'll start the confession: Silver Skoda Fabia TDI hatchback with huge mileage and until it was stolen 2 weeks ago my beloved black Piaggio Liberty 125 scooter.

yeah, I got one of them, gotta share it with a few people sometimes.

But we like to share, so we let them on, even when there clearly isn't enough room and they should really be waiting for the next train  ;).

I'd like an SR-71 Blackbird just for effect. Actually a Harrier would do just fine.

I mostly ride in Buses and trains sometimes in taxis and sometimes in ferries or other peoples cars.  I can't dive for Medical reasons I would like to start riding my push bike again.

I'm in the middle of buying a new car right now, and id almost rather eat fruitcake then go through the rediculously complicated process.   I was approved for a loan through my local credit union before I had a specific car picked out, so now i have to get the bill of sale from the sellers, bring it to the credit union, and then I can get a check to bring back to the seller and finally get the car.  And then figure out a way to get my old car to a salvage yard and cross my fingers that its worth at least a couple hundred.

I paid a deposit on an 02 Mitsubishi Lancer today, and will hopefully be able to get the loan check tuesday morning... so by Wednesday I will be driving this.

I can't wait to get rid of my 94 toyota camry, which has been renamed the deathtrap, because the entire underside is rusted out, and the suspention is mostly broken, and would cost more in repairs than the car is worth.

Heh!  My car is an 02 Lancer. :D. (Yellow, stick shift, the "O-Z Rally" version that looks like the Lancer Evo body and trim but has the ordinary Lancer stuff where it counts... sheep in wolf's clothing.)

Nice.  I'm hoping from the smiley face that you like it and havn't had big expensive problems? I was really hoping to find a stick shift, but sadly the one I'm getting is an automatic, the basic ES model.   Considering my budget though, and the number of ford pickups I had to dig through to find this car, I really cant afford to be picky. I really don't have the time to look for other cars either, since the one I'm driving now is technically illegal.   I could have done MUCH worse for 3k.  I do kind of that that Lancers are fairly rare in my area though, so im not driving the same honda civic as a couple hundred other people in my town.  I've been looking for them on the road since I found the classified ad, and have seen 1 in a week.

Dunno if this is androgyne only or others are allowed to play in the sandbox, so if a trans woman is welcomed to join the talk, here I go, otherwise feel free to show me the door, I'll find my way frrom there.

Currently the daily driver is a 2000 Ford Focus but the fun car is a 2006 Mustang GT that I have modified just about everything on including a twin turbo system, suspension, brakes, wheels, custom bodywork and paint etc.

Yeah. That was what "he" used to do for a living before he came to grips with the fact that "he" was not a he.

Either way, taking that gentle beast through the canyons is one of the few true releases I have.

Jaded, anyone's welcome in the Unicorn Forest as long as they're not bringing chainsaws. :)

I've had no major problems.  Replaced tires more frequently than I would have expected.  Failed emissions tests with minor things twice -- one was literally just the gas cap and one was something that apparently plagued the model but was easy to fix.  Needed sway bars fixed once.  Just recently replaced the battery (it lasted 10 years!) and brake pads.

Compared to other cars I've had it's been very reliable.
