What song makes you feel "really you" alive as a woman.

I remember years ago when I was dating I used to love songs by Sting.  After I got divorced, I felt that no man would ever want me again because I had two kids already.  (How stupid was that)  so this song was one that helped me a lot.

Then after I came to my senses  I loved the song  "Silent All these Years" by Tori Amos

And finally when I realized how mean girls could be to one another (You'd think I'd have known, having three sisters)

This is my anthem to female meanyness.

Mine would have to be:
Raise Your Glass by P!nk. She has other songs that really speak to me, but when I just want to party and celebrate who I am, this is the song, just because I'm happy to be a unique kind of girl, doing my own thing.

P!nk - Raise Your Glass

And, as silly as it sounds, Taylor Swift's You belong with me. Just because I was the girl in jeans and sneakers. ^_^

I'm only just beginning to find my feet as a girl, and still don't hear a great deal of myself in many really bombastic, powerful anthems to womanhood. This little song by the Japanese singer / voice actress Maaya Sakamoto, though, has been by my side the whole way so far, and I feel sure it will follow me wherever the path ahead leads. ^_^

I simply wonder how I might learn to love myself.
For if I could only learn to love myself more and more, I just might meet mornings I've never seen, songs I've never heard,
and a me I've never met before.

Someday surely...
Just a little further.
Just a little further.

These are mine!

I chose this one:
The JaneDear Girls - Wildflower (Video)

My S.O. says its this one that is more like me!
Avril Lavigne - The Best Damn Thing

Don't judge a book by its cover! My lifes been like a country song! True love, amazing grace, severe heartbreak, buckles, boots n spurs! I 've been thrown off the bull a couple times, I keep getting up and dusting myself off! Can't give up on my happily ever after!

Aslyn - Be The Girl

I almost forgot my "namesake" song. It is the where I got the lyrics in my sig.

and i know that i'm never alone
and i know that my heart is my home
Every missing piece of me
I can find in a melody

I would have loved to be Michelle Phillips but I looked more like Cass Elliot.  I was never going to be as sexy and vivacious as Grace Slick was singing Plastic Fantastic Lover, but Janis, yeah, I felt Janis.

Or this, more recently
FIGHT APATHY!, or don't...

Pffft...all of this fluffy pop music.

Yuck.

Why not some death/doom instead?

LOL

Well one of my favorites for feeling alive is Geoffrey Oryema
