Kia Ora Felix,
It's funny how for one person 'snow' can be a blessing[make them happy] and for another it can be a curse[be the cause of great suffering]...I guess it all depends upon ones circumstances and perception ... "Shelter and warmth verse No shelter-sleeping rough !"...
However I hope you get your wish and have a white Xmas and I also hope those who are homeless find shelter or their Xmas day/night turns out to be a mild one...

I've been homeless a lot, and I didn't find snow to be all that different than rain or regular cold. Once you're out there, you're out there. Heat was actually worse for me, because people are crueller if you smell bad, and when it's hot and you can't shower, you smell bad.
I worry more about the sadness in my city. We have warming centers and the county vouchers people into hotels when the temperature gets low enough, but there are no programs to change the fact that some people are lost and forgotten. There are filthy old guys walking around talking to themselves, shouting at the voices they hear, and I know that they don't deserve to suffer like that any more than my daughter does. She acts the same, basically, but I look out for her. There are teenagers who just needed to get away. There are alcoholics and heroin addicts, and I really can't claim that I'm superior for leaning more on a website than a drug. Those guys don't even have computers. There are whole families who did nothing wrong.
Yeah. Snow makes me happy, but homelessness itself is a huge issue that tears me to pieces.
