Hi girls,

I made my announcement to the world almost a year ago. I have been so happy living my true life, not having to hide anything from anyone. The only thing left is my I.D.

I am scheduled to have my bilateral orchiectomy in 9 days and I was wondering what advice I might find from those who have already had it performed. The doctor doing the surgery will be using a local for pain and I will be in and out in 2 hours.

Specifically, will I be comfortable enough to walk around after 3 days. My lovely Brenda has an important event that I really want to go to just 3 days after my surgery? ^-^

My BO, in December 2007, involved incisions in the lower groin area, under a general anesthetic.  I chose this more radical surgery to avoid scrotal scar tissue in the belief that GRS, should it ever miraculously become a real option, would proceed more easily.

That said, I was on hydrocodone pain killers for the first 3 days and then moved to ibuprofen.  Since you'll be getting a simple orchiectomy the recovery period should be a lot shorter than mine.  You'll feel as if you got kicked down there for a few days but the discomfort will decrease steadily, as long as there are no complications.  Good luck with your surgery!
