Jeneva

Ok, so after the stressful last few days we both wanted to get out and reconnect with nature.  We drove over to a local park that has nice walking trails and wandered around a bit.  Unfortunately it had been a while since we'd been to this park because it is a bit further.  So after managing to walk twice as much as we wanted, we were all hungry and my wife wanted to go to a Japanese place nearby as a sort of pick me up.  Unfortunately it was closed so we ended up at a Chinese buffet.  After we were done of course they brought fortune cookies.  Our daughter handed them out and this is the one I got.

"You will make a change for the better."

My FFS/BA is schedule for just a few days from now so I couldn't have asked for a better fortune. ;D

I love fortune cookies. Mine are usually stupid, but that one you got seems pretty fortuitous. :)

Mine tend to be a bit useless too. Like " The hotel of your mind has many vacancies."

That's a good one, Jeneva! There are some nice ones in the fortune cookie thread over in the food section, too, check them out. Hugs, Devlyn

Thanks!

It is based in part on the fact that I was so sheltered in high school that I thought Switzerland was the only place in the world that did GCS surgery. Not sure why but that is what I heard from my grandparents once about someone that transitioned. Of course it was also filled with expletives.

I got even more attached to it when I found role playing games and realized that TSR and DragonCon was originally based in Lake Geneva, WI. That was my only coping mechanism for a long time, and unfortunately I couldn't always play females because one of our game masters was the preacher at our church and he had a serious talk with me about how that was a bad idea when I first mentioned it.

After using Geneva for a long time I realized that J was a better choice since my birth name started with J.

It has good connotations for me too, mostly because I think the Geneva conventions are so important, and also because it just sounds pretty.

Your reasons are pretty neat, though. I wasn't allowed to play Dungeons and Dragons growing up, but I went to DragonCon a couple times.

Once one mentions dragoncon, I no longer read the thread.

Good for you, Mahsa. *pats you on the head*

I was so proud. I went as an employee of a comic vendor, even though it was times between age 9 and elevenish. It certainly was a bunch of dorks, and a lot of people took it all too seriously, but I loved it.

Mahsa, would this thread be any cooler if I mentioned that I've done a lot of coke and ecstasy and such, and had a lot of random sex with beautiful people, and I still like fortune cookies and the name Jeneva?

You can get some really great sayings on those pieces of paper. Some are timely, also.
