so now I'm wondering do I go back to the first pic hairstyle with which i looked like this:

or stick with the fringe thing but hack at the back and sides (which are bugging me) and try somehting like this:

or

or something like the guy in my avatar

urghhhhh I really need to do something soon or else I'll take scissors to it soon  >:(

Well, if the back and sides are bugging you,
I say, hack those suckers off! You'll never know till you try!

OMG I Know EXACTLY how you feel about the back. I got a haircut yesterday for the first time JUST how I wanted it. I always tell the lady's to just cut it short. But yesterday I took a picture of a guy with the haircut I wanted. If you don't mind going short, then I have a suggestion.

That has A LOT of options :)

Lots of guys can't be bothered with hair styles as such. There are some guys who would say having a style must mean you're gay or something (not me I hasten to add) but I have heard it said in jest. Why not just shave it off. Buy some clippers, remove the little plastic thingy that keeps it a certain length and shave it back to almost nothing. You're head will feel rough and it'll be so easy to manage, you may end up wondering why you haven't done it before. You need never pay for a haircut again, remove hair from your plug hole and you'll save a fortune on hair care products. This particular "style" is rarely sported by a girls, I can't imagine why  ;)

i've read that totally shaving the head can actually have a feminising effect; it tends to look more butch lesbian on an ftm rather than masculinising since it defines the shape of the skull.

then again, the same could probably be said for mohawks, and i love my hawk.

Yeah, shaving your head could make an FTM pass a lot less. A lot of guys worry about their hair otherwise all guys would have shaved heads. Tons of them style it, grow it out more, etc. dye it whatever.

I'd say just trim/layer the top of what you have now and then shave the sides to a 3 or 4.
The story is the same, I've just personalized the name.

I second Da Monkey, but I'd say to have it professionally done if you haven't done your own hair before. I buzzed my own hair for a year before I attempted to do a layered cut on myself.

see, i always get haircuts I'm pleased with purely because I've let the style grow out so much that it's a relief just to get it all cut off again :p nah, I nag quite a bit telling them exactly what I'd like. i don't know what I'd like this time though :p I do definitely want the sides and back hacked though as i like having it neat around my ears and 'sideburns' I'm just wondering how short to go at the front though :p and if I should try a different style that i haven't thought of hehe

thanks for the suggestions :)

nah mate, I've heard the butch lesbian thing that the other guys have mentioned before and I truly believe that i would look like a butch lesbian if I did that. (no offence ofcourse) I kind of always try to leave the top a little longer aswell to balance out my face shape aswell thanks for the suggestion though

wow, i love your mohawk. Yes, i like that style I had in that pic but I thought I looked quite butch in that pic so I wondered if I should stay away from that style but it is so nice to have no hair in the way of my ears and no longness at the back

Yeh, I was thinking of making it majorly textured at the front as it just flops down like a sheet if i leave it down. I don't know how short i can take it if I want to be able to push it up and not look silly but still be able to have it down and not look silly. I mean i don't want the bangs to look girly. I'm just itching to clip the sides and back but I keep seeing schoolboys etc with floppy longish surfer dude hair and wonder why my hair doesnt go like that (to me, i just look girly from the back but they manage to look boyish :S)

lol, I always end up urging the barbers to clip around my ears well, because hair that comes over my ears REALLY get's on my moobs after a while and the back freaks me out if i can lift a large part up. I'm surprised my hair cut dreams havent come back :S :S

that's dreams in which I dream that my hair has grown back long and I have no way of cutting it. They relaly creep me out those dreams

thanks all for the suggestions/ views. I'd appreciate more though if anyone else wants to contribute? wondering mostly about the fringe issue I suppose  (to try like the ashton kutcher pics or to go back to the first pic and have shorter bangs?) If i had shorter fringe, I could put it up so much more easily but with longer I could try that a kutcher style urgh Ican't make my mind up. I guess passing is a bit issue to. which would help me pass more?

cheers :(

I'd keep the shape of your face in mind when looking at photos, and see if you can find guys with a similar facial shape and different styles.
