The two managers I was outted to at work a few weeks ago (over the name tag bull->-bleeped-<-) apparently stood up for me, and I walked into work tonight, one of the managers comes out and I'm thinking a zillion thoughts "Oh man, I'm fired". Well she tells me she talked to them and they settled for Mitch on my tag instead of my legal name (probably cos Mitch is a short version of my legal name..). Its not Matt but hell, its male and that's all I care about. I thought I was gonna have to quit cos I was being an incooperative bastard for not wearing a name tag...thought they thought I was just a kid playing games saying he was a man...guess not..just thought I'd share the news.

PS.- The second of the managers I was outted to comes back to work tomorrow, haven't seen her in weeks. I didn't have facial hair then  And a bunch of guys at work are calling me Matt/Mitch now..I'm too happy for my own good atm  *waits for the sh*t to hit the fan*

What is the big friggin' deal about a nametag? At least you were wearing one. That is why I could not do the manager thang for too long. No patience for corporate BS.

I worked with a gal name of "Ike." That was her legal name -- her mother named her that.
When I was younger, I used my initials to be gender non-specific. They couldn't say much about that.

I like Mitch better than Matt.

I don't like Mitch... but I'm biased because I know a few Mitch's I don't like

My middle name is Matthew, so obviously I like that one.

Actually Thundra..I wasn't wearing a name tag after they told me I had to wear my legal name. I guess they figured they give me one I wanted or get rid of me for being difficult, *shrug*. I think it was a bunch of bull->-bleeped-<- to begin with, them saying I had to wear my legal name or a close version of it.

That's great that they're being reasonable. And I like both names - Mitch and Matt.
