This is making me paranoid now. I wish I never posted pics in the "do I pass" thread. Like everyone else, I just wanted feedback to see if I passed or not. I guess though once you post you pic on the net, anyone can get a hold of it.

  Don't worry if you came out to others, however there is a warning in the Susan's rules about showing things here you would not elsewhere.  I may show images of myself here or at another site by link.  Family, including down to the cousins once removed, and friends know of my transition.  I would start showing myself here after crossdressing and going full time before I would do so.  I had the long decades of denying women's clothing in my house and the middle-aged inertia to pass to go on that next step.

If someone googled my old name, they'd find a ton of posts on another forum from when I was 15. I didn't post anything really crazy, I pretty much was a shut in and had no life, but I felt weird about being so findable. So once I got my name changed, I don't tell anyone my birth name and I don't do anything to put myself on the net. No facebook, nothing. I'm much happier that way.

Good plan! At one time I had emailed my resume to an east coast firm. Having been involved in several different occupations at different times there was a note about my former blasting business. About a year later I googled my name and it came up on the Internet with my address and a map to my house. I freaked as I envisioned coming home and finding my home filled with terrorists wanting me to purchase a truckload of explosives for them. I contacted Google and told them that my personal security had been compromised and to remove it. They refused, I had to contact the company that had released it to them and thankfully they were quick on the uptake and had it removed from the Internet.

Thanks. I'm not so concerned about people who know me finding out. I just don't want people using my pics of other sites without my permission ya know? I don't want the world knowing I'm trans.

They don't need your permission.  This would fall under "free content", specifically since you; as the source of origin, made it public domain by putting it on the internet.  If you want to control such content you'll need a copyright, or at the very least a disclaimer not granting duplication or republishing anywhere else without the explicit permission of the source.

The doctrine of 'free use' would allow anyone to use it, even without copyright acknowledgement so long as a) no money is made in the process {Dr. Kat reminds you: money changes everything}, b) it was in some form publicly published - and there has never in recorded history anything like the 'publicly published' kind of published you get by posting it online.

That sucks.
