Absolutely fabulous Colleen,
I'm just soooo pleased for you.
As they say; another brick in the wall of the mighty house of Colleen.

*with tongue-in-cheek* I think you'll have to go back to whom ever typed the letter Colleen. There appears to be a 'typo' from what I can see. The way I look at it, it's the 4th MARCH. not May. Oh aren't they just so silly?  ;)  :D

Keep going girl, because you're doing a great job.

Lotsa huggs
Catherine

Thanks!  It is so WONDERFUL to see a light at the end of the tunnel and know it's not a train...

When I read the thread title, I thought you meant you were getting a heart transplant. :'D

Anyway, congratulations! That's amazing news. I've been waiting a year on a first consultation with a gender clinic despite already changing my name and living full time as a woman, and I found out on Monday that a combination of the clinic's incompetency and my own busy life meant that I would be waiting three more if nothing changed. I was absolutely distraught, but my wonderful GP stepped in and saved me, and now I ought to be starting hormones within a month. Point being that I know how horrible it is to feel as if you're getting nowhere, and how fantastic it is when suddenly you see some light at the end of the tunnel. :D Stick in there, and do let us know how you get on!

I also thought that as well, in the U.K the heart is called a 'ticker'!

Fabulous news Colleen. I too thought it was your heart, because I also live in the UK.

(Come to think of it, it's a rather typical neologism. Unnecessary, obtuse and not entirely accurate. But having that sense of dismissiveness).

Anyway, you've come an enormous distance in the time we've known each other Colleen. Good luck.

Haha, glad it wasn't just me. :D I actually had no idea it was a British-ism, though!

Also, I just read your user title, Colleen. The lady smiling in your image is 54? Holy cow. You look younger than my 43 year old aunt. :'D

That is what I thought as well.  You must be so excited, this is definitely a cake and candles celebration ;)

My post would have got to you quicker with joy and cheer, but I had to hop through the verification process.

Actually, I wrote that caption when I first joined here almost two years ago. I'm 55 now, but my birthday is in April. And the picture is very recent. THANK you!! ;D

Thanks, all, for the kind words and congratulations. I can still hardly believe it. And sorry for the confusion, obviously I meant countdown ticker...  ::)
