I found a buncha cans of food - carrots, potatos, beets, green beens - in a free pile, so I put everything but the beets in a big pot of mashed potatos with some tvp and a bit of ground flax and lots of garlic and some chives and stuff. Along with bread, it's actually pretty good. And none of that stuff would've been much good on its own. Who cans potatoes? That just seems so weird. XD

Were the Beetroot in large slices, Felix?  If so you can do a genuine Aussieburger.  Just add a fried egg and a slice of Beetroot. Trust me it works well.

Dinner tonight was at the Tasmanian Inn,( gay owned)  cnr of Campbell and Warwick St's, Hobart, after GLBTI support group meeting.  Very nice Rissoles and veg, typical pub grub but exceptionally tasty.

Thinking about trying to make Poutaine later.  Sounds like an interesting variation on chips and gravy.  We can't get  genuine Cheese Curds here though.  I will make do with Mozarella.

That sounds amazing! Though I agree, canned potatoes are kind of gross somehow... yet not quite as bad as the infamous chicken in a can :P

I've just made lunch; an ancient nut cutlet I found lurking in my freezer with some rice and salad. I need to go shopping.

I am going to try this, never had anything like it. I have to get more beet, though. The kid got really excited and asked if she could eat them. I opened the can and she ate the whole of it really fast. I think it was just the novelty of them.

I'm having tofu out of the package, Rite Aid brand v8 (the very best kind imo), and goldfish crackers.

I just finished a little smoked salmon, and now I'm about to have some oolong tea.

Later tonight, after my daughter gets here, it'll be corned beef (it's been in the slow-cooker all day), sauteed potatoes and string beans. Non-traditional, I know, but I really don't like cabbage.

Just ate it.  I had a lot of things doing this past week that the shopping was done today.  Of course, the selections were not there for my St. Patty's feast.  The store manager cut the price of the Kroger brand flat cut to that approaching that of the tip cut and I got it.  This turned out to be the most tender piece of brisket that I had in awhile!  Good flavoring.
