I just received the results from my blood test. For starters I only take  Estrodiol every 14 days so I am on a fairly low dosage of estrogen. I am not taking any T-blockers.

In the last 3.5 years, my testosterone has gone from 441 down to 153 (normal male range is 240-950) and the free testosterone has dropped from 87.0 to 26.8 (normal male range is 47-244). Bioav Testosterone is 63 down from 205 (normal male levels are 130-680. My numbers are way low for a male but still higher than that of a genetic female.

My doctor called all in a tizzy about getting me on testosterone shots because he was worried about loss of muscle mass (too late, hooray!), lack of energy, loss of bone mass and loss of male sexual performance.

My wife who is also a nurse and supplies me with the estro, told the Dr. that we did not care about the male performance. And I do not care about the loss of muscle but I am concerned about bone loss and loss of energy. He wants to check my thyroid which is a bit high and also my pituitary gland. I might add that he is unaware of my taking the estrogen.

Does anyone have any thoughts on my quandry?
thak you,
Rhonda

I can understand why your doc is worried. He does need to be told.

I know. That is a big reason why I haven't seen mine. That, an two other reasons on my chest  :D

No doctor can ever treat you efficiently without knowing your situation, especially, medications/HRT-wise. And it's better if a doctor actually prescribes you the things legally. I'd almost say essential. If he doesn't know that you're transgendered and taking hormones, of course he's gonna be worried of a drop like that.

Rhonda,

You need to level with your Doctor.  There is nothing worse for a health care professional than undisclosed medical information.  To be honest with you, your Doc is probably worried about you right now, as you have unexplained weight loss and hormonal imbalance (as far as he knows, that's the case).

As far as he's concerned, you could have anything from androgen insensitivity developing to a hormone based cancer of some sort.  The worry about the muscle loss, bone loss and lack of male performance - those are the natural consequences of low T.  The E would be maintain the bone mass though, but he doesn't know that you've been taking it.

If you don't feel comfortable with this Doctor, then go and see someone else who is TG friendly.
