I really really REALLY don't get all the hate with this film. It's just as touching and moving and meaningful as the Richard Donner/Christopher Reeve films and also continued with that well-established continuity perfectly. The sense of nostalgia and "wow this IS Superman" I felt every time I watched it is undeniable. I really wish they had kept with this continuity and just advanced the story, because I thought they had a great cast. Brandon was SO perfect for the role.

Some people complained that "Superman didn't PUNCH anyone." .... but has that really EVER been the point of Superman? How heroic is punching someone? Watching Superman Returns, all I see are great feats of true heroism. He literally saves hundreds of lives. Without having to resort to violence. THAT is the mark of a true hero to me. That is Superman. I don't know what the next film has in store, but I hope it retains the  sense of heroism, the feeling that Superman is above doing anything petty, just to feel better for a few seconds, by knocking someone out. If you want to watch someone who hits people a lot, watch Batman. Superman isn't about that.

R.I.P Christopher Reeves.... you are still missed.

I suppose for those people who read the comic books, or see the plethora of cartoons based on the Man of Steel, then the violence et cetera is part of the package deal. Along with an insanely angular jaw which could probably slice bread and pectoral muscles which look so well formed that they seem to be only a few days away from gaining some form of rudimentary intelligence.

Just came out of Hunger Games literally right now. I think the acting was the best part if it, and I'm glad to say it wasn't another Twilight

I saw the Best Exotic Marigold hotel for the 3rd time at the cinema

I really liked Hunger Games. At times it nearly made me cry openly. I think it's because there are so many parallels between it and the world we live in.

I was immediately distracted by the shaky cam effect at the beginning. It's something they do to be artsy or to keep the viewer engaged (?) but I just found that it made me think about the camera and took me out of the story. However, either they stopped doing it as much as the movie went on or I managed to stop noticing it.

A friend who had read the books seemed disappointed. I try to see the movie before I read a book when the option is there for that reason. Now I will definitely read the books. People are raving about them.

I read the books but I was rather impressed with the movie. There were some minor things I didn't like and I didn't quite know why they changed a few things. But overall they stayed pretty close with the book. At least more than movie adaptations have been doing lately.

The Game (dir. by David Fincher)  if you like plot twists, this is for you, a real twizzler.

Ehh, it was pretty entertaining, but not really as amazing as it was made out to be. The buzz over-hyped it.

The Artist.  It was entertaining, but as for Oscar worthy, idk.  Not your usual slasher flick.

No Strings Attached ~ Ashton Kutcher and Natalie Portman

Nothing to rave about, but I don't mean that as badly as it seems. I enjoyed it; it made me laugh and it involved me enough to keep my interest. A basic rom-com about two people who decide to become "friends with benefits", followed by the usual disasters when one begins to feel more than the other. Natalie Portman always sells characters in my opinion, so when I saw her name I figured I'd watch. =]

I saw the movie first. I like it better this way actually, because then I don't go into the movie expecting everything and feeling let down like "they could have done better". No, I like it better when I don't read the books

I read all three books in the week before the hunger games movie release... First book... fantastic!, second... alright, third book just plain terrible.  I enjoyed the movie,  and it followed the book pretty well (only a few pointless changes).

I also watched 'Battle Royale' which is a Japanese movie released in 2000.. about a futuristic society that takes a middle school class and puts them on an island... last person alive wins... hmmm sounds familiar somehow...

I recently watched Falling Sky, starring Brittany Murphy and Karen Allen. Made in 1998, three years after her breakout role in Clueless, it was an emotional and touching story about a single mother and her daughter who have just moved to Las Vegas. I really enjoyed it.

The very last Harry Potter movie.  And before that, The Green Lantern.

I just finished "Red Without Blue".  A very interesting, some times sad movie about twins.  One is gay and the other is Trans.  It is about their lives and their growth as people.
