Yesterday at work, one of my closest friends, gg, 21yrs old, a real knock-out, dashed over to powder her face, something she does multiple times in a day.  I jokingly asked if I had any shine......"No", she said, "you always have a powder-perfect complexion....I hate you!  Really, I never see a shine on your face, and your complexion is so even......how did you get so lucky?"
Well.....presenting male at work, still, I couldn't very well tell her my estrogen levels were as high as hers, and it was, after all, in the powder, as well as the genes.

At church today, all went pretty well.  I now have Sundays off.  I haven't had Sundays off in over half a year.  Anyway, one of my old friends, gg, looked very carefully at close range.  Said my hair was too long, and it made me look too feminine, especially with the little gold studs I wore.  She kept looking carefully, at very close range, until I lunged for her neck with my teeth bared, and made her jump back.  I had to laugh to myself....."it ain't just the hair, honey", I thought.  Just the subtle re-arrangement of facial fat, the lack of facial hair, and lots of other things I have no plan of changing.  Get used to it....."

Marcy insists we will still sit up front, as usual, and ignore those who may judge.  She is truly an amazing woman.

Do you think it (complexion) has anything to the change in hormones or is it possible you always had a good complexion and it went unnoticed? I've wondered that as I've been getting a lot of compliments on mine and no one ever commented on my skin in my "past life".

No, I can assure you the estrogen and spironolactone have had a huge impact on my skin.  The skin is thinner, and transluscent.  As a man, I had what I refer to as 'gooseflesh skin' on the upper part of my chest, up to my neckline.  All gone, just an ugly memory.  I do use an apricot scrub daily on my face.  The left-over, I use on the backs of my hands and on my breasts :)
I also use some concealer on my face, well blended, and wiped dry.  Otherwise, I stay out of the sun or if I am out in it, I wear spf 70.

My complexion pre HRT was horrid...  in my pic to the left Im only wearing a fine layer of foundation, eyeliner, and I think my lipstick had worn off by that point LoL...

Takeing care of your skin makes a huge diffrence besides the bennifits of HRT  :)

Absolutely!  Besides the benefits of hrt, the best thing you can do for yourself is take care of your skin.  scrub, clean, no sun!

Sleep, exercise and proper diet (and not smoking) are essential to good skin condition.   HGH, which helps keep skin young looking,  is stimulated through a variety of means including the amino acids found in the right proteins and of course good deep sleep on a regular basis.

If your skin is soft and looks good without makeup,  chances are you are doing some of the above things properly.

Good skin products help too :)

Sorry, I don't mean to sound like a "know it all", but I have studied this topic and practice these beliefs myself.

No....I agree with everything you said.  I use lots of vitamin E, also.  No smoking is a must!
You look great Pam.....got me by 2 years.

My laser tech always tells me what great skin I have. I started doing the Perricone regimen at about the same time I started HRT. (Google "perricone" to get the details of the program)

Yes, it is pretty amazing how my complexion and skin have improved over the last three years.

My completion has improved too. It looks a lot better now -- very few people guess that I'm 28. My skin wasn't too bad before, although it would tend to break out (which doesn't happen any more). But with the HRT it really has changed. Sadly, I smoke, but trying to quit.

What ever you do, what ever it takes, please, please quit.  It's the most important health risk in your life, and is the most aging factor for your skin.
I'm not speaking from a standpoint of no experience.  I smoked for 25 years, and quit 12 years ago.
